Transfer News: French captain agrees Real Madrid move

A potential transfer saga is potentially about to be concluded Kylian Mbappe has made the decision to join Real Madrid this summer, after informing PSG of his intention to leave when his contract expires in June. While Mbappe hasn't yet put pen to paper with Real Madrid, the agreement is likely to be formalised once it's certain that the two clubs won't face each other in the current season's Champions League.  This move comes as Mbappe stands as PSG 's top goal scorer, boasting a record 244 goals for the club. Keen to resolve his future before March, Mbappe held discussions with PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi on 13th February, revealing his decision to join Real Madrid. Following reports of his departure last Thursday, Mbappe was omitted from the starting lineup in Saturday's match against Nantes. Chelsea announce another signing They have announced the signing of Cole Palmer from Manchester City in a deal worth £40m, with £2.5m in add-ons. The attacking midfielder can play in several positions and has signed a seven-year contract with Chelsea.  Palmer made over 40 appearances for the Premier League champions across all competitions after coming through their youth set-up.  Evans returns to Manchester United Manchester United confirmed Jonny Evans has returned to the club where he started his career, signing a one-year contract until June 2024. The former United Academy graduate has been capped 102 times for Northern Ireland. In his previous spell at Old Trafford, he won three Premier League titles, two League Cups and also the FIFA World Club Championship. Evans originally signed a short-term deal with the club but proved to Ten Hag that he was worthy of a contract until the end of the 2023/2024 season.  This was just one of many signings for the club on what was a busy transfer deadline day. News: Tierney moves to Sociedad on loan

 There's been an interesting transfer development involving a Premier League side and another from La Liga. It has been announced that Kieran Tierney has joined LaLiga side Real Sociedad on loan for the 2023/24 season. Scotland international defender Kieran joined them in August 2019 from Celtic and during his time with them, he has made 124 appearances in all competitions. The 26-year-old enjoyed success in his first season with them, finishing the campaign by scoring his debut Arsenal goal in their 3-2 home victory against Watford on the final day of the Premier League season. This achievement was followed just days later, with Kieran starting in their 2-1 FA Cup Final triumph over Chelsea at Wembley Stadium.  He later played an integral role in helping the club secure their fourteenth FA Cup title, a record-breaking feat. Real Madrid signs Chelsea goalkeeper on season-long loan Real Madrid have announced the signing of goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea on a season-long loan. He will cover for Madrid's regular number one Thibaut Courtois, whose anterior cruciate ligament injury will keep him out of the league for the majority of the season. As a Chelsea goalkeeper, Kepa has made 163 appearances since joining from Athletic Bilbao for £71m in August 2018. Real Madrid started their season with a 2-0 win over Athletic Club. West Ham United sign Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse has joined West Ham United from Southampton for a fee thought to be in the region of £30 million. There has been a huge transfer announcement  Harry Kane, the England captain, has completed a move to Bayern Munich, the German champions, agreeing to a four year contract. This transfer marks the conclusion of a record-setting spell with Tottenham Hotspur. The transfer has been completed for an initial sum of around 100 million euros (£86.4 million), and there are additional provisions for performance-related bonuses.  For Spurs. he has etched his name into the record books as their leading goal scorer of all time. Another new signing for Manchester United The £72m (£64 million plus 8 million of add-ons) signing of Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta has been completed by the club. Having joined the Serie A side in 2022, the 20-year-old scored 10 goals in 34 appearances last season. After suffering a small injury during pre-season training with Atalanta, Hojlund will miss the beginning of the 2023-24 season. United kick off the campaign against Wolves on Monday 14th August. This means United will probably start the season with Rashford playing in that more central role.  He was presented to the United fans before their friendly win against Lens. There's been a another big money move to the Premier League Manchester City have completed the signing of centre-back Josko Gvardiol on a five-year deal from RB Leipzig for around £77m. He is the second most expensive defender in history after Harry Maguire, who joined Manchester United for £80m from Leicester City in 2019. In two seasons at Leipzig, Gvardiol has impressed after joining from Dynamo Zagreb in July 2021. Manchester United have announced the signing of Mason Mount from Chelsea. The 24-year-old midfielder is Ten Hag's first signing of the summer in a transfer deal worth an initial £55m, plus a possible £5m in add-ons. Mount has signed a five-year contract with the option for a further year. Chelsea rejected United's first three bids for Mount before an agreement was reached.  AC Milan have completed the signing of Ruben Loftus-Cheek from Chelsea on a four-year contract. The two clubs did not disclose the fee involved. However, it has been reported that Milan will pay £15m plus add-ons. The 27-year-old had been at Stamford Bridge since he was a youth player. He has scored seven goals in 155 club appearances, winning two Premier League titles, the Europa League and the Uefa Super Cup. The midfielder has also had loans at Crystal Palace and Fulham where he made an additional 54 Premier League appearances. It has already been a busy summer of outgoings for Chelsea. It has been announced that Real Madrid have completed the signing of Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund on a six-year deal. The Spanish giants will pay 103m euros for the 19-year-old, in addition to various potential add-ons.
