Charlton Athletic saw off a battling performance from National League North side Gateshead to reach the third round of the FA Cup. Jayden Stockley opened the scoring for Charlton, heading home Conor Washington's cross in the 30th minute. They doubled their advantage after the break when Ben Purrington's volley deflected in off Stockley.
