After Pereira’s sacking on 2 November, Wolves initially had an approach for Edwards turned down by Middlesbrough before being granted permission to speak to the 42-year-old once a compensation agreement was reached. The former Wales international, who made 111 appearances for Wolves between 2004 and 2008, previously managed Luton Town in the Premier League.
