United held in Ruben's first match

Image
Ipswich Town 1 - 1 Manchester United Manchester United had to settle for a point at Ipswich in Ruben Amorim's first game in charge, despite striker Marcus Rashford providing an excellent start with an opener just 81 seconds into the match. Author - Olivia T Omari Hutchinson equalized for Ipswich before halftime, while United goalkeeper Andre Onana made two stunning saves to deny Liam Delap.  The outcome was disappointing for Amorim, as his team struggled to contain Ipswich at times and often faced a resolute home defense, which thwarted potential scoring opportunities.  Captain Bruno Fernandes narrowly missed with a late free-kick, but Ipswich fully deserved their point, and without Onana's brilliance, they likely would have scored more goals. Amorim's ambitious choice to start wing-back Amad Diallo paid off when he delivered the low cross that Rashford converted, marking the striker's fifth goal of the season. This was also Rashford's first goal in the Premier

Pressure builds on Rangers boss

Rangers 1 - 1 Dundee United Vaclav ÄŒerny’s equaliser cancelled out Sam Dalby’s opener, but Rangers couldn’t find the winning goal that would have brought them within six points of Aberdeen and six clear of United. Author - Mark Lee Although this was the first time Rangers have dropped points at Ibrox this season, it’s another setback in their campaign. They've now let 13 points slip across their opening 12 league matches and sit 11 points adrift of leaders Celtic. The match began with ÄŒerny and Nico Raskin forcing early saves from Jack Walton, while Nedim Bajrami’s curling effort was tipped wide by the United keeper. Dundee United were well-drilled and disciplined and gradually grew into the game. Vicko Sevelj’s pinpoint deep cross found Dalby unmarked, and the striker headed past the exposed Jack Butland to give the visitors a shock lead. It could have gone from bad to worse for Rangers when Dalby got into a promising shooting position, only for his low effort to be blocked by

[image or embed] — European Super Football ( @superfootball.bsky.social ) 24 November 2024 at 12:42 Fulham took an early lead in the 19th minute through Alex Iwobi’s stunning long-range strike. However, Cunha, a rare bright spot in an otherwise tough season for Gary O’Neil’s side, equalised in the 31st minute with a poacher’s finish. The Brazilian forward then turned provider early in the second half, setting up Joao Gomes to give Wolves the lead. The pair reversed roles later, as Cunha netted his second with a spectacular strike from the edge of the area. Fulham’s misery deepened when Joachim Andersen p

Celtic move three points clear at the top

Hearts 1 - 4 Celtic Clinical Celtic opened up a three-point gap at the top of the Scottish Premiership with a commanding victory over Hearts at Tynecastle. Author - Sean M With Aberdeen suffering their first league defeat of the season earlier in the day, Brendan Rodgers' side seized the opportunity to establish clear daylight between themselves and the Dons for the first time this campaign. Celtic were sluggish in the first half, though, and were lucky to head into the break level. Blair Spittal and Lawrence Shankland both squandered excellent chances to put Hearts ahead. The second half, however, was a completely different story. Kyogo Furuhashi broke the deadlock with his seventh goal of the season, pouncing on a deflected clearance by Daniel Oyegoke after Craig Gordon's initial save. Minutes later, Nicholas Kühn doubled the lead with a superb counter-attacking goal, finishing clinically to put Celtic firmly in control. Celtic Football Club news and stories Adam Idah add

Arsenal end winless run

Arsenal 3 - 0 Nottingham Forest Arsenal reignited their title push with a much-needed victory over Nottingham Forest, securing their first win in five Premier League games. The Gunners have struggled recently, hampered by a demanding fixture list and a spate of injuries, leaving them nine points adrift of league leaders Liverpool heading into Saturday’s match. Author - William G from GMCR Football From the first whistle at the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal were in control. Bukayo Saka broke the deadlock after 15 minutes, playing a slick one-two with Martin Ødegaard before weaving past two defenders and rifling a shot into the top corner. Thomas Partey, introduced at half-time, made an immediate impact by curling in a superb effort from 20 yards to double the lead. Late on, teenager Ethan Nwaneri added gloss to the scoreline with a composed finish, wrapping up a comfortable win. Nottingham Forest, one of the season's surprise packages, came into the game level on points with Arsena

Tottenham thrash City

Manchester City 0 - 4 Tottenham Hotspur A remarkable evening in Manchester. Who saw this result coming? James Maddison netted a brace as Tottenham swept past Manchester City, handing them a fifth consecutive defeat – a streak they hadn’t endured since 2006. Author - Macca Pedro Porro smashed in a third, and Brennan Johnson sealed the victory with a last-minute fourth on a remarkable night that saw City’s 52-match unbeaten run at the Etihad come to an end. That streak had stretched back to just before the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. This was City’s heaviest home defeat since their 5-1 drubbing by Arsenal in 2003. It also marked the first time Pep Guardiola’s side had suffered three consecutive Premier League defeats under his leadership, just 48 hours after he signed a new two-year contract extension. For Spurs, it was a stunning turnaround. Despite being without both first-choice centre-backs, fielding five teenagers on the bench, and coming off a 2-1 home loss to Ipswich two weeks ag
