Cardiff City 5 - 0 Plymouth Argyle Cardiff City climbed off the bottom of the Championship table in stunning fashion with a dominant win over 10-man Plymouth Argyle, securing only their second league victory of the season. Author - Sean M In what was undoubtedly their finest display of the campaign so far, the Bluebirds surged to an early 2-0 lead. Alex Robertson opened the scoring with a sublime 20-yard curling strike, followed by a similarly classy finish from Rubin Colwill. Plymouth's troubles worsened just before half-time when Ibrahim Cissoko was sent off for pushing Perry Ng to the ground. Colwill, who had assisted Robertson’s opener, continued to shine in the second half. His low cross was tapped in by Anwar El Ghazi, before Callum Robinson added a fourth with an impressive solo run and finish. Chris Willock made it five with a bouncing shot from the edge of the box, as Cardiff more than doubled their season’s goal tally in one game, having scored just four in their prev

Plymouth Argyle 3 - 1 Luton Town Plymouth Argyle are now on something of a roll after consecutive home victories. Following their recent victory over Sunderland, they've now had the better Luton. With six goals scored, things are starting to come together for Wayne Rooney's side. Rami Al Hajj got them off to a great start with an early goal, and substitute Ibrahim Cissoko made his mark with a brace. Luton had a glimmer of hope when Victor Moses briefly levelled things, but Plymouth proved too strong for a Luton side that looks like it is struggling to adapt to its return to English football's second tier. A closer look at what happened at Home Park Rami Al Hajj, making his first start for the home side, needed eight minutes to open his Argyle account, curling a lovely strike into the top corner after some slick build-up play. Despite creating further chances before half-time, Plymouth couldn’t extend their lead, while Elijah Adebayo missed a great opportunity to bring t

Championship: Wednesday thrash Plymouth

Sheffield Wednesday 4 - 0 Plymouth Argyle Wayne Rooney's first match as head coach of Plymouth Argyle began on a sour note, as his team suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat against Sheffield Wednesday. The former England top scorer, who took charge of Argyle in May, watched his side struggle to create opportunities, while the home team cruised to victory. Sheffield Wednesday dominated the first half and deservedly went into the break with a lead, courtesy of debutant Jamal Lowe, who tapped in from close range after a well-executed build-up. Lowe was instrumental in Wednesday’s second goal, as his header from Djeidi Gassama’s cross deflected off Brendan Galloway for an own goal. The hosts continued to control the match. Josh Windass made it three with a powerful shot from six yards after Anthony Musaba pulled the ball back from the byline. Substitute Michael Smith completed the scoring in the sixth minute of added time, converting a close-range cross. EFL: 2024/2025 (eurosuperfootball.b
