They also competed in the FA Cup and the EFL Cup. On 17 November, they were handed a ten-point deduction from their Premier League tally for violating the league's profit and sustainability rules, the largest points deduction in Premier League history. The club appealed the decision, with the appeal scheduled for March 2024.  On 15 January, they were found to have committed another breach of the same rules, prompting an ongoing investigation. On 26 February, the initial ten-point deduction was reduced to six points following the appeal board's decision. England's hopes of ending 58 years of pain and disappointment were dashed as they lost to Spain in the Euro 2024 final at Berlin's Olympiastadion. Gareth Southgate's team suffered heartbreak once again, falling to a late goal by Mikel Oyarzabal, which left them unable to end the long wait for success for the men's team in a second consecutive European Championship final. Early Life of Denis Law He grew up in an Aberdeen Council Flat and was the youngest of six siblings.
