United and City play out dull derby draw

Image
Manchester United 0 - 0 Manchester City Manchester United and Manchester City played out a drab goalless draw at Old Trafford, a result that served as a stark reminder that both clubs are in need of a reset come summer. Author - Olivia T Stadium - Old Trafford City carved out the better of the rare clear-cut chances, with Omar Marmoush twice testing AndrĂ© Onana. The Egyptian forward, however, was unable to find a way past the United goalkeeper on either occasion. United, for their part, fashioned a handful of half-chances but never truly looked like breaking the deadlock. There was early promise when Alejandro Garnacho was brought down on the edge of the City area by RĂşben Dias, yet the pattern that followed was all too familiar. For all their effort, RĂşben Amorim’s side often appeared short on belief in the final third. Their closest moment came with 13 minutes remaining, when substitute Joshua Zirkzee directed a Patrick Dorgu cross goalwards, only for Ederson to beat the effort a...

More news from across the English Football League League One news and stories Against the flow of the game, Northampton seized their chance midway through the first half. The pressure has only increased on the Manchester United manager.  Ole Gunnar Solskjaer spoke with the media after the game and said: "It’s very disappointing. Last week, it felt like we made a step forward, this is a big step backwards. It is a way of losing we don’t like. You want to see a better Man United than that. United's Donny van de Beek tweeted:"A disappointing day. But your support means everything." View from the blues The reaction from everyone associated from Manchester City was obviously more positive. The Manch...

They looked more of a threat going forward and a bit more quality could have seen the home side eas...
