United and City play out dull derby draw
Manchester United 0 - 0 Manchester City
Manchester United and Manchester City played out a drab goalless draw at Old Trafford, a result that served as a stark reminder that both clubs are in need of a reset come summer.

City carved out the better of the rare clear-cut chances, with Omar Marmoush twice testing AndrƩ Onana. The Egyptian forward, however, was unable to find a way past the United goalkeeper on either occasion.
United, for their part, fashioned a handful of half-chances but never truly looked like breaking the deadlock. There was early promise when Alejandro Garnacho was brought down on the edge of the City area by RĆŗben Dias, yet the pattern that followed was all too familiar. For all their effort, RĆŗben Amorimās side often appeared short on belief in the final third.
Their closest moment came with 13 minutes remaining, when substitute Joshua Zirkzee directed a Patrick Dorgu cross goalwards, only for Ederson to beat the effort away.

The draw leaves United marooned in the bottom half of the table, a campaign drifting towards another underwhelming finish. For City, the point does little to ease growing concerns over Champions League qualification. They stay fifth (a position likely to be enough) but with Newcastle just two points adrift and holding two games in hand, the pressure is building.
"I just wonder if we can score..." Some of the best reaction
Liam C gave us some of his interesting analysis from the match. He said: "The Manchester derby unfolded much as expected, with United sitting deep and looking to counter, while City dominated possession and tried to unpick a low defensive block. In truth, neither side showed much urgency, passion or quality, and the goalless draw felt like a fair reflection of the 90 minutes.
"From a Manchester United perspective, the worrying trend continues. Going into matches now, it's less about whether United can win, the bigger question is whether they can score at all. Right now, no matter the opposition, finding the net looks anything but certain."
Macca added: "This didnāt feel like a derby in the traditional sense. The usual intensity and spark were missing, along with the kind of creativity that ignites big matches. United badly need reinforcements in midfield. Bruno Fernandes continues to carry the creative burden almost single-handedly, and it's clear he needs more support. Bringing in another creative midfielder this summer could be the key to unlocking more goals and restoring some attacking threat."
