Adding to the lead, centre-back Millie Turner doubled the advantage with a remarkable strike from the edge of the area, navigating through the West Ham midfield. The first half proved challenging for West Ham, losing key players to injuries, and Nikita Parris further widened the gap by converting an Ella Toone through-ball, bringing the score to 3-0.

While West Ham made efforts to bounce back in the second half, with Emma Harries, Amber Tysiak, and Riko Ueki having attempts saved, their endeavours were in vain. Manchester United solidified their dominance as Lucia Garcia and Melvine Malard scored late goals, securing a comfortable win.

With this result, Manchester United maintains an undefeated record after six league games, whereas West Ham has collected four points from an equal number of matches. This performance stands out as a positive highlight in a season marked by varied outcomes for Manchester United.

Under Marc Skinner's leadership, the team showcased an impressive offensive display, registering 18 shots, nine of which hit the target. The front three of Galton, Parris, and Geyse applied relentless pressure in the final third, disrupting the visitors' build-up play and capitalizing on defensive errors.

Nikita Parris, earning a start after a midweek League Cup hat-trick, consistently posed a threat down the right flank. The defensive line had little to contend with, allowing full-backs Hannah Blundell and Jayde Riviere to adopt more aggressive roles, making overlapping runs to create opportunities on the wings.

West Ham struggled to break out of their half, but Manchester United's defence, anchored by goalkeeper Mary Earps, remained vigilant. Earps made crucial saves, denying Riko Ueki an early goal and effectively handling second-half efforts.

While Manchester United experienced a lull in shots during a portion of the second half, the two late goals underscored their control over the game. With three wins and three draws from their initial six WSL games, Skinner's side looks forward to the upcoming Manchester derby at Old Trafford next weekend.

Amy watched the match and was delighted with United's performance. She said: "What a performance from the reds. Five goals and it could have probably been more in truth. Ella Toone with a standout performance. You'd have to argue that is a statement to the rest of the league and it sets the team up nicely for the next few weeks."
