PL reaction: Manchester United 0 - 2 Manchester City

Manchester City cruised to victory with almost embarrassing ease at Old Trafford.

This Manchester City win was not as emphatic as Liverpool's magnificent 5-0 victory here in United's last home league game but City were far too comfortable. The pressure has only increased on the Manchester United manager.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer spoke with the media after the game and said: "It’s very disappointing. Last week, it felt like we made a step forward, this is a big step backwards. It is a way of losing we don’t like. You want to see a better Man United than that.

"When you concede the first goal in an unfortunate way as early as that it makes it difficult. They pressed us really well. We never got to the level we need to be at to beat good teams."

United's Donny van de Beek tweeted:"A disappointing day. But your support means everything."

View from the blues

The reaction from everyone associated from Manchester City was obviously more positive. The Manchester City manager said: "Here at Old Trafford we made a good performance many times since we were together - we won more times here than at the Etihad stadium. It was a deserved victory and three more points."

Kyle Walker put in another great performance. He tweeted the following after the match: " Get in!!!! Brilliant by everyone. Clean sheet.3 points. Manchester is blue Now time to meet up with the England boys."

Where do Manchester United go from here?

It's almost impossible to predict where Manchester United will go from here. Would you agree with this United fans?

In an interesting article for the BBC, their chief football writer said: "Ole Gunnar Solskjaer set himself up for a fall before this derby meeting with Manchester City by boldly claiming Manchester United were the biggest club in the city and probably the world."

The big question as of the 7th November 2021 at 10am is how long will the Old Trafford club persist with the manager if results and performances continue like this.
