Chelsea's flawless Conference League form continues
Heidenheim 0 - 2 Chelsea
Jadon Sancho marked his first start since October 20 by providing assists for both goals, helping Chelsea maintain their perfect record in the Conference League with a victory over Heidenheim in Germany.
A closer look at what happened
The on-loan player from Manchester United set up Christopher Nkunku for his fifth goal in four group phase games before assisting Mykhailo Mudryk with just four minutes remaining.
However, Chelsea relied heavily on goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen, who made several crucial saves to secure the win against their Bundesliga rivals. With the score still level, the 22-year-old made an impressive one-handed stop to deny 18-year-old Paul Wanner. After Nkunku's opener in the 51st minute, Jorgensen once again came to his team's rescue, saving attempts from both Leo Scienza and Wanner.
Chelsea ended the match with ten men after midfielder Cesare Casadei was sent off in the sixth minute of stoppage time for receiving a second yellow card.
Although Maresca's team had won their previous three group phase matches comfortably, scoring 16 goals in total, Heidenheim presented their biggest challenge in the competition so far.
The German side have enjoyed a remarkable rise through the leagues in the domestic game. They certainly proved against Chelsea that they have earned their right to compete in European competition.

More reaction from Chelsea fans
Lewis W told us: "The team delivered a solid performance, similar to their previous games in the competition. However, I still have some concerns about the defense and the goalkeeper. The keeper nearly made a critical mistake that could have allowed the opponent to score, which would have significantly changed the momentum of the game."
Nicholas was happy with the win but a little concerned about the overall performance. He added: "Our almost reserve team secured another victory. However, after we scored the first goal, we looked arrogant. The players on the pitch seemed reluctant to demonstrate their skills to Enzo Maresca, leading to a shaky 30 minutes. While these fixtures may be considered easier, every player who isn't in the Premier League should be giving their all in Europe."
