West Ham shock Newcastle
Newcastle United 0 - 2 West Ham United
Tomas Soucek and Aaron Wan-Bissaka were on target as West Ham claimed an impressive victory over Newcastle, easing the pressure on manager Julen Lopetegui.
The Spanish coach, who succeeded David Moyes in the summer, had struggled to find consistency, with the Hammers managing just three wins in their opening 11 games.

This eye-catching result, however, will boost belief among the club's fans that Lopetegui can steer the team in the right direction.
Despite dominating for large stretches, Newcastle fell behind when Soucek headed in from a corner during the first half.
Anthony Gordon had a golden chance to level the score after Jean-Clair Todibo's poor clearance gifted him a shot, but his effort was straight at Lukasz Fabianski.

Alexander Isak also squandered a prime opportunity just before the interval, blasting wide from inside the box after a pinpoint pass from Bruno Guimaraes.
West Ham weathered the storm and delivered the decisive blow early in the second half, with Wan-Bissaka firing a low shot in off the far post to register his first goal for the club.
The Hammers saw out the game confidently, moving six points clear of the relegation zone. They now sit 14th, just three points away from the top half of the table.
Newcastle, meanwhile, remain in 10th place, four points adrift of the Champions League spots.
A bad way to end a good for Newcastle United
Newcastle entered this match full of confidence, aiming to secure their fourth consecutive win across all competitions. They had already achieved a League Cup victory over Chelsea and a Premier League win against Arsenal, in addition to beating Nottingham Forest 3-1 just before the international break.
A win in this game would have propelled Newcastle to within just one point of the top four. The team started strong, suggesting that a comfortable three points were likely. However, West Ham scored the first goal, which clearly unsettled the hosts. Despite missing several good opportunities to equalize, Newcastle looked vulnerable when West Ham counter-attacked.
Home fans will hope this performance was merely a blip and that their team can bounce back when they travel to face struggling Crystal Palace.
