Real Madrid bounced back from that shock defeat again Sheriff Tiraspol with a 5-0 thrashing of Shakhtar Donetsk in Kyiv.  You can watch the highlights in the video below. Carlo Ancelotti’s side led 1-0 at half-time after Serhiy Kryvtsov sliced in a Lucas Vázquez cross beyond his own goalkeeper for a spectacular 37th-minute own goal.  In the second half, Vinícius Júnior put the game beyond Shakhtar with two stunning goals in five minutes – converting Luka Modric’s fine through ball before an individual effort, with the Brazilian dribbling past three defenders.  Vinícius then set up his compatriot Rodrygo for the fourth goal before Karim Benzema near the end of the game. Real Madrid are La Liga champions once again.  They wrapped up the title by defeating Cadiz 3-0 at the Bernabeu before they watched Barcelona lose 4-2 at Girona. Ultimately, this has been an impressively dominant campaign for Carlo Ancelotti's men. They have lost just once all season, at local rivals Atletico Madrid in September, and are also unbeaten in their last 28 league games. Against Cadiz, Brahim Diaz starred for Real Madrid. The former Manchester City winger scored an impressive goal by firing into the top corner from just inside the box in the 51st minute. S few minutes later, Jude Bellingham doubled Real's lead by ghosting into the box and poking home from close range.  Joselu then sealed a comfortable victory in added time with a tap-in. Nacho raced through into the box and squared the ball for his teammate to finish with ease. Another excellent performance. Barcelona failed to find a win that would have taken them up to fourth place in La Liga. Sevilla took the lead after Ivan Rakitic rolled the ball into the area for Alejandro Gomez's first-time finish. Ronald Araujo's header levelled before half-time and despite Jules Kounde being sent off for throwing the ball at Jordi Alba, Barca could not breakthrough. The home side had plenty of chances, with Marc Cucurella superbly denied by Thibaut Courtois in the closing stages of a positive first half as far as the hopeful hosts were concerned. However, it felt like only a matter of time before Carlo Ancelotti's side punished the Blues and in the 57th minute they did, as Rodrygo finished off a ruthless attack.  Lionel Messi has been named men's player of the year at the 2022 Best Fifa Awards. The World Cup winner beat French forwards Kylian Mbappe and Karim Benzema to the prize. He captained Argentina to World Cup glory in Qatar, and scored 27 goals in 49 games for club and country in 2021-22. Liam, a Manchester United fan, told us: "You have to say, he deserves it. Liverpool 0 - 1 Real Madrid Liverpool's bid to claim the Champions League trophy for the seventh time ended in disappointment as Real Madrid won in Paris. Jurgen Klopp's side were thwarted by Thibaut Courtois. The former Chelsea keeper produced one of the great individual performances to stopLiverpool time and again. Mohamed Salah was denied six times by Courtois who was simply unbeatable. Real were always a threat and the decisive moment came after 59 minutes when Vinicius stole in unmarked at the far post to score. The victory also sees Carlo Ancelotti make history by becoming the first coach to win a fourth Champions League title.
