England 1 - 2 Spain

Gareth Southgate's team suffered heartbreak once again, falling to a late goal by Mikel Oyarzabal, which left them unable to end the long wait for success for the men's team in a second consecutive European Championship final.

Spain took the lead just two minutes into the second half when Lamine Yamal set up Nico Williams, who beat England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford with a powerful low shot.

Cole Palmer briefly revived hopes of a comeback with a composed left-footed strike in the 73rd minute. However, Spain ultimately clinched victory, as Oyarzabal converted Marc Cucurella's cross four minutes from time, leaving England once again as the nearly men.

The Three Lions looked like they would be facing extra time for the third successive game after Harry Kane's first-half penalty equalised a stunning early strike from Xavi Simon.

However, there was to be a dramatic twist. A superb late strike on the turn from the substitute Watkins sent England into their second successive European Championship final on a fantastic night in Dortmund.

Netherlands 2 - 1 Turkey

The Netherlands came from behind to defeat Turkey, setting up a Euro 2024 semi-final against England.

An own goal by Mert Muldur, pressured by Cody Gakpo, helped the Dutch take the lead after trailing at half-time. Turkey's centre-back Samet Akaydin had previously put his team ahead.

Trent Alexander-Arnold fired home the winning penalty after Cole Palmer, Jude Bellingham, Bukayo Saka, and Ivan Toney had all kept their composure.

France win 5-3 on penalties

Theo Hernandez scored the decisive penalty for France after Portugal's Joao Felix hit the post in the shootout following a goalless draw, sending Didier Deschamps' team into the Euro 2024 semi-final against Spain.

Spain kept their dreams of a fourth European Championship alive with a dramatic 119th-minute goal from Mikel Merino, sending them into the semi-finals and knocking out hosts Germany in a thrilling match at Stuttgart Arena.

This eagerly anticipated clash saw a resurgent Germany face off against one of the most exciting teams in Spain. It did not disappoint.

Portugal won 3-0 on penalties

Cristiano Ronaldo's tears turned to joy as Portugal triumphed over Slovenia on penalties to secure a Euro 2024 quarter-final spot against France, despite the 39-year-old missing a crucial penalty in extra time.

France 1 - 0 Belgium

A late own goal by Jan Vertonghen sent France into the quarter-finals of Euro 2024 at Belgium's expense.

A game that had lacked quality and excitement for much of its duration seemed destined for extra time. However, a shot by substitute Randal Kolo Muani deflected off Vertonghen with five minutes remaining, ultimately sealing a French victory at Düsseldorf Arena.

The 2008 and 2012 winners secured a highly anticipated quarter-final clash with hosts Germany by overcoming an early own goal to defeat Georgia 4-1 decisively.

England 2 - 1 Slovakia

Jude Bellingham saved England from an early exit in Euro 2024 against Slovakia on Sunday with a breathtaking equaliser in the 95th minute. 

Harry Kane then secured their place in the quarterfinals with a winner early in extra time, sealing a 2-1 victory.

Germany 2 - 0 Denmark

Euro 2024 hosts Germany advanced to the quarter-finals by defeating Denmark. 

The game at Borussia Dortmund's Westfalenstadion was dramatically interrupted for about 20 minutes towards the end of the first half due to a spectacular storm, with lightning illuminating the sky and hail and heavy rain drenching the pitch.

Switzerland delivered an impressive performance, defeating Italy 2-0 in Berlin and knocking the defending champions out of Euro 2024.

Ukraine 0 -  0 Belgium

Belgium advanced to the knockout stages of Euro 2024 as group runners-up, while Ukraine bowed out of the competition after a goalless draw in Stuttgart.

All four teams in Group E began the evening on equal points, each with a shot at progressing. Ukraine's chances were hampered by an inferior goal difference, meaning their fate hinged on the outcome of Slovakia's match against Romania, which ended 1-1.

France 1 - 1 Poland

A masked Kylian Mbappe scored his first Euro 2024 goal, but France were held to a draw by an already-eliminated Poland, resulting in a second-place finish in Group D.

France needed a win to secure the top spot, but Robert Lewandowski's penalty in the 79th minute cancelled out Mbappe’s earlier goal, scored from a penalty 11 minutes into the second half.

Austria 3 - 2 Netherlands

Austria delivered a stunning performance that will surely turn heads at Euro 2024, defeating the Netherlands to advance to the last 16 as Group D winners.

Despite a challenging draw against the Dutch and France, Ralf Rangnick's team triumphed in two of their three matches, finishing at the top of the table.

The Netherlands had already secured their spot in the last 16, but will now progress as one of the best third-placed teams, with France taking second place after their 1-1 draw with Poland.

Austria stun Netherlands and top Group D

Denmark 0 - 0 Serbia

Denmark secured second place in Group C thanks to their superior disciplinary record compared to Slovenia after a lacklustre draw with Serbia.

Neither team showcased their full potential, though Denmark were marginally better in a forgettable match in Munich.

England 0 - 0 Slovenia

Gareth Southgate's squad showed some improvement compared to their dismal performance against Denmark, yet it still fell short of justifying their status as pre-tournament favourites.

During this match, England struggled with creativity in a group where no team scored more than one goal in any game, marking a first in the competition's history.

Albania 0 - 1 Spain

Spain maintained their 100% record at Euro 2024 by defeating and eliminating Albania from the tournament. 

The former Manchester City forward Ferran Torres, now playing for Barcelona, gave a much-changed Spain side the lead in the 13th minute. He finished low first time from Dani Olmo's pass, with the ball bouncing in off the post.

Croatia 1 - 1 Italy

Mattia Zaccagni scored in the final minute of stoppage time, ensuring that Italy progresses to the last 16 of Euro 2024 with a late equaliser against Croatia.

Luka Modric thought he had secured a victory for Croatia as he scored early in the second half. This came after he had a penalty saved, but Croatia's swift response to that setback appeared to be enough for them. However, Italy levelled in stoppage time when Zaccagni scored in the 98th minute.

Switzerland 1 - 1 Germany

Substitute Niclas Füllkrug saved the day for Germany with a late equaliser, ensuring a 1-1 draw with Switzerland and securing the top spot in Group A.

Switzerland looked set to progress to the last 16 as group winners after Dan Ndoye's early strike, but Füllkrug's header changed the narrative. The goal ignited celebrations among the German fans behind the goal, as their team preserved their unbeaten record in Euro 2024. For Switzerland, it was a heartbreaking turn of events after they had defended valiantly for over 90 minutes.

Scotland 0 - 1 Hungary

Scotland had needed a win to secure a spot in the knockout stage of a major tournament for the first time. Hungary kept their hopes alive with a win.

The match had seemed destined to end in a frustrating, goalless draw until Hungary scored a 100th-minute winner. Frankly, neither team looked deserving of a place in the last 16 based on their performances.

Scotland struggled to make an impact. Hungary's attacks usually fizzled out 25 yards from goal until stoppage time, when the game took on a frenetic pace. It was then when Hungary broke Scotland hearts.

Georgia 1-1 Czech Republic

In the last moments of this game, substitute Saba Lobjanidze missed a clear opportunity for Georgia. Despite that, the debutants earned their first ever point in a major tournament with a 1-1 draw against the Czech Republic.

Georgia took the lead just before half-time when striker Georges Mikautadze scored from the penalty spot.

The Czech Republic, who reached the quarter-finals three years ago, were the more dominant team throughout the match. They finally equalized when Patrik Schick scored after substitute Ondrej Lingr's shot hit the post.

Belgium 2 - 0 Romania

Kevin De Bruyne led Belgium to a crucial Euro 2024 victory with an exceptional performance in a thrilling match against Romania in Cologne.

Belgium, under pressure in Group E after losing their first game to Slovakia, delivered an outstanding attacking display, proving why they are among the favourites in Germany.

In a vibrant and colourful atmosphere, Youri Tielemans' low shot put Belgium ahead just 73 seconds into the game, setting the stage for numerous scoring opportunities. Belgium and De Bruyne were unstoppable. The Manchester City midfielder secured the victory with a close-range goal after 79 minutes, leaving Group E finely balanced with all four teams on three points each.

Turkey 0-3 Portugal

Portugal secured their spot in the last 16 as group winners at Euro 2024 with a straightforward victory over Turkey in Dortmund.

Manchester City's Bernardo Silva opened the scoring midway through the first half, deftly placing the ball past goalkeeper Altay Bayindir after Nuno Mendes' cross from the left was deflected into his path.

A disastrous own goal doubled Portugal's lead when defender Samet Akaydin, without looking up, passed the ball back to Bayindir, who was unable to stop it from rolling into his own net.

Portugal guarantee top spot 

Slovakia 1 - 2 Ukraine

Roman Yaremchuk scored a decisive goal for Ukraine, securing a comeback victory against Slovakia. 

The Valencia striker found the net just 13 minutes after coming on, deftly controlling Mykola Shaparenko’s pass and slipping the ball past Slovakia’s keeper, Martin Dubravka, into the bottom corner.

Slovakia initially took the lead in the 17th minute through Ivan Schranz, who netted his second goal in consecutive games. However, Ukraine equalised in the 54th minute when Shaparenko converted Oleksandr Zinchenko’s cross. Yaremchuk then clinched the victory ten minutes before full-time.

Poland 1 - 3 Austria

Two late goals secured a hard-fought win for Austria, boosting their chances of reaching the last 16 at Euro 2024, while Poland became the first team to be knocked out.

Following Austria’s victory and France's draw with the Netherlands later in the day, Poland is guaranteed to finish bottom of Group D, even if they win their final game.

The Netherlands and France played to a stalemate in Leipzig, leaving both teams level on four points at the top of Group D. The group remains wide open heading into the final matchday, with little to separate the Netherlands and France.

Defenders took centre stage in this encounter, with Dutch captain Virgil van Dijk standing out as he effectively neutralised France's formidable attacking threats.

Spain 1 - 0 Italy

Spain secured their spot in the last 16 of Euro 2024 with a scintillating performance against defending champions Italy in Gelsenkirchen.

Two European giants meeting in the group stage of the tournament meant there were high hopes and it lived up to its billing with an electric opening half. Spain delivered most of the eye-catching play, moving the ball around beautifully with intensity and creativity, while Italy succeeded in keeping them out - but only just.

England 1 - 1 Denmark

England wasted the chance to secure their place in the Euro 2024 knockout stages as Group C winners after a draw against Denmark in Frankfurt.

Harry Kane scored in his fourth successive major tournament to give England an 18th-minute lead. Still, Denmark soon got an equaliser they deserved when Morten Hjulmand struck a thunderous 25-yard equaliser after 34 minutes.

Phil Foden struck the post after the break and, while England are still at the head of their group, they must deliver vast improvements in their final group game against Slovenia.

Scotland 1 - 1 Switzerland

Scotland entered this match with one aim: to avoid being sent home with regrets. 

A loss in Cologne would have left them needing unlikely help from other groups, even if they managed to beat Hungary in Stuttgart on Sunday

After a frantic first 45 minutes, Scotland held out and gained what could prove to be a precious point.

Euro 2024: Scotland battle to earn a point 

Croatia 2 - 2 Albania 

Albania scored a dramatic stoppage-time equalizer to deny Croatia a victory that severely dented the 2018 World Cup finalists' hopes of reaching the knockout stage of Euro 2024.

In a chaotic but entertaining end to the game, the Albanians rescued a point when Klaus Gjasula side-footed home in the 95th minute, sending their supporters into a frenzy.

Jamal Musiala was on form again as Germany continued their strong start to Euro 2024 with a win over Hungary, securing their spot in the knockout stages in the process. The Bayern Munich forward was impressive throughout the match, scoring midway through the first half and nearly netting another with a powerful shot that just missed the post. 

Hungary were unhappy with the opening goal, claiming Ilkay Gundogan fouled defender Willi Orban before setting up Musiala to score. However, a video assistant referee (VAR) review upheld the decision, allowing Musiala and his teammates to celebrate.

Germany extended their lead in the second half when former Manchester City player Gundogan, left unmarked, slotted the ball past goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi.

Portugal 2 - 1 Czech Republic

Roberto Martinez’s side, favourites for the tournament after winning every game during qualifying, left it late to overcome their determined opponents.

The Czech Republic had spent much of the game defending in their own half but shocked Portugal when Lukáš Provod's powerful second-half strike found the far corner.

Their hopes of victory were dashed soon after, as goalkeeper Jindřich Staněk parried Nuno Mendes' header, and the ball bounced off Robin Hranáč into the back of his own net. Portugal then celebrated in stoppage time when Conceição scored.

Late goal seals win for Portugal 

Belgium 0 - 1 Slovenia

Slovakia caused an upset in their Euro 2024 opener as they stunned Group E favourites Belgium in what proved to be a really chaotic encounter in Frankfurt. Peter, a Crystal Palace fan, watched the match as a neutral. He said: "Belgium had enough chances in the game and how many times have we seen them in a position to win games and they do not do it? You'd have to say that Slovakia deserved it."

Romania 3 - 0 Ukraine

Romania secured their first European Championship victory in 24 years with an impressive win over Ukraine in Group E.

Captain Nicolae Stanciu unexpectedly put Romania ahead in the 29th minute, hitting the top corner with a superb strike from 20 yards out.

Razvan Marin then extended Romania’s lead after 53 minutes, with a long-range shot that slipped under Ukrainian goalkeeper Andriy Lunin.Four minutes later, Denis Dragus sealed the win by tapping in Dennis Man's cross from close range.

Austria 0 - 1 France

France began their tournament with a composed 1-0 victory over a spirited Austria. The match was decided by a first-half own goal. 

Their coaching staff will be pleased with the midfield control offered by Adrien Rabiot and the dynamic performance of N’Golo Kanté, who rolled back the years with his display.

By the end of the match, one thing was evident: France remains the team to beat. Their victory seems almost inevitable at these Euros, barring any significant disruptions.

Slovenia 1 - 1 Denmark

Christian Eriksen made a triumphant return to the European Championship but this goal wasn't enough against a determined Slovenia side. 

Eriksen's tournament began spectacularly as he scored the opening goal for his team 17 minutes in, skilfully slotting the ball into the bottom left corner after a clever flick-on from Jonas Wind. He was a standout performer, with Denmark dominating possession in the first half and creating several opportunities to increase their lead.

However, Slovenia, supported by their loud and enthusiastic fans, equalised when Erik Janza’s powerful shot flew past goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel with just 13 minutes remaining.

Poland 1 - 2 Netherlands

Substitute Wout Weghorst clinched a late winner just two minutes after coming on, as the Netherlands kicked off their Euro 2024 campaign with a victory over Poland in Hamburg.

Poland stunned the Dutch early on when Adam Buksa scored with a header.The Netherlands dominated play but missed several chances before Liverpool's Cody Gakpo equalised with a deflected shot past Wojciech Szczesny.

Just as it seemed they would have to settle for a draw, Weghorst, introduced in the 81st minute, secured the win with a close-range finish moments after coming on.

Poland 1 - 2 Netherlands

England 1 - 0 Serbia

Jude Bellingham inspired England to the start they hoped for at Euro 2024, netting the winning goal and delivering a stellar performance in their victory over Serbia in Gelsenkirchen.

His dream season continued, after clinching the Champions League in his debut campaign with Real Madrid, he showcased why he’s seen as England's latest superstar. The 20-year-old rose magnificently to meet Bukayo Saka's deflected cross with a powerful header after 13 minutes, earning Gareth Southgate's side an early lead.

Italy 2 - 1 Albania

Italy recovered from the shock of conceding the fastest goal ever scored at a European Championship to beat Albania 2-1 with Alessandro Bastoni and Nicolò Barella ensuring the defending champions made a winning start.
