Impressive Chelsea beat Leicester
Leicester City 1 - 2 Chelsea
Nicolas Jackson and Enzo Fernandez fired Chelsea to an impressive away victory over Leicester City.
Jackson, 23, continued his red-hot form, netting his fifth goal in four consecutive away games. He showed great strength to outmuscle Wout Faes and latch onto a long ball, with Enzo Fernandez providing the decisive pass. Jackson coolly finished in the 15th minute to give Chelsea the lead.
Fernandez then doubled the advantage, heading home from close range after Leicester keeper Mads Hermansen parried Jackson's initial effort.
Leicester managed a consolation deep into stoppage time when Jordan Ayew converted a 95th-minute penalty following Romeo Lavia's foul on Bobby de Cordova-Reid in the box.
Premier League news and stories: 2024/2025 season
Chelsea dominated on a dreary afternoon at the King Power Stadium, controlling over 66% of possession and dictating the tempo from start to finish.
For Leicester, it was a tough return to Premier League action. They lost influential midfielder Harry Winks to an ankle injury after just 11 minutes and struggled to create chances, registering their first shot on target in the 39th minute when Kasey McAteer came close. Wilfred Ndidi missed a golden opportunity just before the break.
The visitors were relentless throughout. Noni Madueke had a goal ruled out for offside, while Moises Caicedo and Joao Felix—making his first Premier League start since May 2023—missed good chances. Cole Palmer was also unlucky to see a close-range effort blocked by his own teammate, Madueke, shortly after half-time.
Chelsea’s control and quality made all the difference, leaving Leicester with much to ponder going into an important few weeks.

Jackson impresses
Jackson has transformed from an unpredictable striker into one of the Premier League's standout performers.
The Senegalese forward netted an impressive 17 goals last season—surpassing Didier Drogba's tally in his debut campaign at Stamford Bridge. However, he also ranked third for missed big chances, behind only Erling Haaland and Darwin Núñez.
This season, Jackson isn’t just finding the net consistently; he’s become a key tactical asset for Chelsea. His relentless work rate, pressing intensity, and sharp link-up play with Cole Palmer have made him integral to the team’s success.
Fans reaction
Jamie, a Leicester fan, told me: "There appears to ne discussions about Steve Cooper's job at Leicester City, but when you look at the table, where do you expect us to be? I believe he is doing a great job given the circumstances that he inherited. "
Lewis W, a Chelsea fan, added: "Enzo Maresca's work with us has been phenomenal. We discussed the number of players he had to manage, but he has completely turned things around."
