The Football Association said the kick-off time was moved to the traditional slot after it was agreed with both sides alongside the local authority, members of the safety advisory group and TV broadcasters.

City and United will meet at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 25th May.

Last year’s final between the two was the first all-Manchester FA Cup final, with Pep Guardiola's side winning 2-1 on their way to a Treble.

In 2023, the match was moved to the same time following police advice. This was the first final to take place at that time in twelve years. Many fans were happy with this as they believed it is the best time for important football matches.

How did the teams reach the FA Cup final?

Manchester United have had a chaotic journey to this stage.

The Reds edged past the Sky Blues on penalties after a crazy and eventful 120 minutes to set up a rematch of last year's final, against Manchester City.

Following goals from Scott McTominay, Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes, United appeared to be in total and complete control. Despite having a few chances, it did look like this was one match too far for Coventry.

However, goals Ellis Simms and O'Hare reduced the deficit and made things very nervy for Ten Hag's side. In the final seconds of the match, Haji Wright held his nerve in stoppage time to score from the spot and send the game into extra time.

When the penalties started, Coventry initially had the advantage after Casemiro missed for United and they scored their first. However, Andre Onana managed to deny Callum O'Hare before unsettling Ben Sheaf with the Coventry captain missing. This allowed Rasmus Hojlund to win it and send United to a final.

What about City?

In their semi-final against Chelsea, City managed to recover from the disappointment of being knocked out of the Champions League quarter-finals by Real Madrid.

For Silva, it was a moment of pure redemption following a penalty miss that contributed to City's loss to Real. The Portuguese midfielder netted the winning goal, meeting Kevin de Bruyne's cross at the far post six minutes before the final whistle.
