Premier League: What's going wrong at Old Trafford?
Manchester United 1 - 3 Brighton & Hove Albion
Let's explore some of what is going wrong at Manchester United after their third defeat of the season.
Criticism for the manager?
The home crowd turned against manager Erik ten Hag as Manchester United lost 3-1 to Brighton at Old Trafford.
United fans have overwhelmingly supported Ten Hag since he arrived last summer, and they have backed him in his dispute with Jadon Sancho.
A cacophony of boos rang around the stadium before Ten Hag was applauded off as he replaced new signing Rasmus Hojlund with Anthony Martial 19 minutes into the second period.
After the match, United's Dutch manager defended this decision.
🚨🇩🇰 Erik Ten Hag on boos for subbing Hojlund: "It was positive. You see the fans in first moment at Old Trafford, reception was great, he performed very well, it was good they gave this signal, will give him belief. He came in with a small issue, he is not ready for a whole…

Outside of this, goals from Welbeck (20 minutes), Groß (53 minutes) and João Pedro (71 minutes) gave Brighton a comfortable win.
A brief match report
After a well-worked move, Danny Welbeck tucked home a Simon Adingra cross from close range. As United regrouped, Rasmus Hojlund's first-half goal was controversially disallowed after it crossed the bye-line in the build-up.
In the second half, Pascal Gross added a classy finish before Joao Pedro scored a powerful long-range strike to extend the Seagulls' lead.

What else are the United fans saying?
Liam, a Manchester United Season Ticket holder, was really annoyed with the result and performance. He said: "This is our worst start to this season since 2014-15 under Louis van Gaal and the harsh truth is it could have been even worse. Against better opposition, Wolves and Nottingham Forest's scrappy victories were exposed for what they were.
"It has been a disappointing season for United. Casemiro has been a shadow of the player he was last season, the defence has been a mess, and Andre Onana has not had the impact on goal that was expected. If you take out Marcus Rashford, we don't have any goal threat. I am very concerned."
Popular Manchester United channel Stretford Paddock also offered their analysis on the performance. You can watch this in the video below. What Is Going On At United?! | United 1-3 Brighton | Howson Review - YouTube
Brighton reaction
Jamie, a Brighton fan, was delighted with his side's performance: "When we were at Old Trafford, we defended like warriors, marking our opponents really well. No matter the situation, we protected the ball and each other really well. The defenders were like best mates alongside our full-backs. There was also a solid duo in the midfield. This performance is how we are going to lay the foundation for our season. We are now excited for our European tour."
Peter, another Brighton fan, added: "We always beat United! Another great day watching this very special team. Is qualification for next season's Champions League possible? On this performance, I would say that anything is possible. "
These are some of the best days in our history. We hope you're enjoying them as much as us! 😇 pic.twitter.com/mYvVPZg98y
