Premier League reaction: Late drama at the Amex

 Brighton & Hove Albion 1 - 0 Manchester United

Let's explore as Brighton sealed a late win over Manchester United at the Amex Stadium.

Despite creating several chances, United probably didn't deserve the win. In all honesty, a draw would have been a fair result and it took a late VAR decision to give Brighton the victory.

Brighton 1 - 0 Man United: Reaction

The match in context

Despite the defeat, United are still in a prime position to reach the Champions League by finishing in the top four. However, the margin for error has been reduced, and they must hold their nerve after this dramatic defeat.

This Brighton win followed a 6-0 thrashing of Wolves, and many fans believe performances like these will be critical in the chase for Europe.

The tweet "Massive Win" from the official Brighton Twitter account probably summed up everything.

Looking back at United, they stay in 4th place and are 4 points clear over Liverpool. Brighton have boosted their own European chances.

What are the fans saying?

Chris was in the away end at Brighton. He told us: "We look like we have a tired squad. We've had so many matches, and injuries have caught up with us. We need another big transfer window to improve the squad because."

William was positive about the performance. He added: " I thought we played really well at times, created chances for ourselves, but just couldn’t finish them. It emphasises the need for a new striker in the summer."

Liam, a United Season Ticket Holder, also believed that this match summed up the need for United to buy another striker: "Harry Kane would be a fantastic signing. However, the player I'd sign is Victor Osimhen. He has been amazing for Napoli this season and is the type of player that you can build your team around."

Manchester United fan and YouTuber Adam McKola gave his this thoughts on the match and United's performance.

Following the match, former Man United striker Dwight Yorke spoke about the performance from both teams. When talking about Brighton, he said: "The culture of the club doesn’t seem to affect who comes in at Brighton, they have the same method, the same approach and way of playing. Players have really bought into the ideas and understand exactly what their roles are in the team. So it's no surprise how well they have done and they continue to rise as a force in the Premier League."

Gary, a Brighton fan sat just behind the goal, was delighted with the win and performance. He added: "We played the exciting football that we have come to expect from the team, win or lose. The skill and commitment demonstrated clearly shows the whole squad effort made between matches."

Jacob, another Brighton fan, told us: "I am still getting excited about qualifying for European football next season. It could be a huge milestone for the club."
