The Big Questions: How do Chelsea improve?

As the 22/23 season slowly concludes, we are delighted to launch our new series of articles.

The Big Questions will explore some of the issues in the minds of fans as we approach what could prove to be a vital summer for many clubs.

This is the first article. Can Chelsea find a solution that gets the best out of their players?

The Big Question: Chelsea - 1

It's hard to believe they were seen by some as an outside bet for a title push at the start of the campaign.

Since then, they have sacked two managers and had to reappoint Frank Lampard as Interim Manager until the end of the season. Let's explore what Chelsea fans are saying and how they believe they can improve next season.

Frank Lampard told the Chelsea social media accounts: "It's important we understand the pride that's at stake when you play for Chelsea."

However, Tammy Solomon replied to this post. He added: "Pride doesn't win games. Strategy does. Your opponent's players also play for pride, but in the end, the best strategy edges. This mediocrity and entitlement approach won't inspire players to show more on the pitch in a sustained manner."

The same user posted this under a different post on Twitter: "You guys need to appreciate the fans with some show of respect and determination to fight for the win. Get us a manager with great insight into strategies. Forget Pochentino, please. "

Twitter user Pheli added: "Aston Villa hired a good manager and they went from the relegation battle to fifth place in the table. This shows what you can when there's a clear plan."

We also asked several Chelsea fans for their thoughts via Facebook.

Lewis told us: "This season has been a disaster for us. I'd argue that we should never have sacked Tuchel and at least given him the full season. He deserved that after winning us our second Champions League."

Peter gave us a similar opinion: "It feels like we've not had a plan and just constantly sign the flavour of the month."

More talking points

Is there a future for Lukaku at Stamford Bridge?

This is an interesting question. The Belgian striker is currently on loan at Inter Milan but is set to return to West London at the end of the season. This could be an interesting talking point for Chelsea fans over the next few weeks and months.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano posted this on Twitter and created more discussion amongst supporters.

Will the new manager be given enough to have an impact?

As we have already said, Chelsea have changed managers on several occasions in recent history. Lewis, who we have spoken to previously, added: "We need to give the next manager time. If we keep sacking them, we are not going to go very far as a club."
