Tottenham are among the Premier League sides interested in signing the Brighton sensation. Some reports have also indicated that Man United are also in the hunt to sign the 18-year-old this summer.

Chelsea are also monitoring Ferguson’s situation as he continues to gain admirers in the Premier League.

Shining on the big stage

The video below shows his recent goal for Brighton in the FA Cup against Grimsby. His side face Manchester United in the next round. Will he shine against The Red Devils at Wembley.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side are also in the race for European qualification this season. The Seagulls are level on points with sixth-place Liverpool with a game in hand on the Anfield side.

The striker signed his first professional contract with the Seagulls on his 18th birthday in October 2022. At this point, he became Brighton’s fifth youngest-ever player when he made his debut against Cardiff in the League Cup in 2021.

His early career

Ferguson made his debut in senior football on 11 July 2019: a 1–1 draw with Chelsea in a friendly at Dalymount Park. His first game in senior football came on 20 September 2019. Ferguson's first goal at senior level came on 28 January 2020. He scored in a 4–2 pre-season friendly win over Drogheda United. He made four competitive appearances in total over his two seasons at the club.

In January 2021, he signed for Brighton's academy. They beat fellow Premier League club Liverpool to his signature at the time.

What are you saying?

Liam, a Manchester United Season Ticket holder, told us: "Ferguson is a great player but I'm not sure that United really need him. We have enough players in that position."

Greg, a Tottenham fan, added: "Ferguson would be a great signing for Spurs. We need fresh young players that will signal the start of our next generation."

Lauren W, a Chelsea fan, also spoke positively about the player. However, she also wondered if her side really needed him. Lauren said: "He is a fantastic player but how would he fit in at Chelsea? I'd argue that the best next move for Ferguson would be to stay at Brighton.

Could he move outside the Premier League?

It would be interesting to see if Ferguson decides to move outside England and the Premier League. If he starts to impress for Ireland in their Euro 2024 Qualifying campaign, he might start to get clubs interested in Germany and Spain.
