Women's Champions League: HB Koge 1 - 5 Arsenal

Here at European Super Football, we are going to start covering the women's game more.

Keep reading for the first article of many as Arsenal thrashed HB Koge in the Women's Champions League.

Steph Catley opened the scoring in the first half after Nikita Parris had missed a penalty. Parris and Caitlin Foord added one each in the second half but sloppy defending allowed Køge to grab a first Champions League goal through Maddie Pokorny, Anna Patten then looped in to make it 4-1 and Jordan Nobbs added the fifth.

This comfortable win means Arsenal remain second in Group C, three points behind Barcelona. You can watch the highlights of this match in the video below.

More reaction to a routine Arsenal win

The Arsenal head coach said: “I’ve felt from the beginning like we have been doing this together with the fans. It reminds us all of what a privilege it is to represent Arsenal.”

One fan replied to the tweet posted below and compared the Arsenal Women's head coach to the one in charge of the men's team. This particular Gunner said: "Two humble managers leading two great teams, both fully understanding the importance of FANS! Up the Arsenal."

There was this interesting comment included in the Guardian's live feed of the game. This comment reads: "Arsenal look a serious outfit, they really do. Barca look a class above, it’s true, but Arsenal look a class above the rest and have plenty of room for improvement.

"The only fear I have for them is that they’ve got so many good players, it might be hard for Jonas Eidevall to pick the right team for the biggest games, but that’s a pretty good fear to have."

Elsewhere in the competition

Fellow English team Chelsea thrashed Servette 7-0. Chelsea led 6-0 at half-time and showed the gulf in class between the sides as they delivered an impressive attacking play. They now sit top of their group after three matches.
