Wales: Swansea City 3 - 0 Cardiff City

Cardiff City manager Mick McCarthy has pledged to fight on after Swansea inflicted a south Wales derby mauling and a sixth successive defeat on his side. 

Jamie Paterson, Joël Piroe and Jake Bidwell were on target as Swansea piled the pressure on the embattled McCarthy with a comfortable victory. Click here to find more news from the English Football League.

Spain: Real Sociedad 1-0 Mallorca

Real Sociedad took the lead of the Spanish top-flight on Saturday after Julen Lobete scored a 90th-minute winner to edge Mallorca 1-0 in a match in which they played the entire half with 10 men.

An interesting article in The Guardian went into detail about their wonderful start to the season. It starts off by saying: "Julen Lobete was on his knees crying again when his teammates sprinted towards him, hauled him to his feet and held him tight. One after another they hugged him hard enough to collapse a lung. 

"The fireworks had gone up over the Bay of Biscay and all around people stood, wearing smiles they had found again. It was late on Saturday night but, together at last, no one was going anywhere.

Scotland: Motherwell 0 - 2 Celtic

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou hailed his side's total control as they made it back-to-back away wins at Motherwell.

Postecoglou told the media: "Both goals were great. The first one was a fantastic ball by Tom Rogic and Dave Turnbull has got that in his locker, he can put one in the top corner."

During the week, Celtic's manager spoke about the club being at the start of a rebuilding process. In a story for the BBC, Postecoglou said: "If I keep getting that support, I'm really confident we will bring in the right kind of players in January that we will need to bolster the squad and then we will have a good foundation for what's ahead.

England: Leicester City 4 - 2 Manchester United

Leicester City increased the pressure on  Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as they ran out deserved winners against Manchester United in a thriller at the King Power Stadium.

At one point, United had threatened to steal a point from a dreadful performance but the Foxes rallied to secure their best win of an indifferent start to the season.

Germany: Borussia Dortmund 3 - 1 Mainz 05

Erling Braut Haaland scored twice on his return from injury as Borussia Dortmund secured a victory over Mainz.

The Norwegian has now scored 49 times in 49 league matches for Dortmund and 70 goals in 68 matches in all competitions. That is an incredible return for someone who is still only 21. 

The win was Dortmund's ninth in succession at home. They now have 18 points after 8 matches. It has been a good start to the season for them and they will be hoping to push rivals Bayern Munich close this season.
