Tottenham’s calamitous campaign reached another bleak chapter as goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky endured a torrid 17 minutes before being substituted in a chastening Champions League defeat at Atletico Madrid.
Handed a start ahead of Guglielmo Vicario, the 22-year-old Czech twice lost his footing in the opening stages, gifting goals to Marcos Llorente and Julian Alvarez.
In between those awful moments, Micky van de Ven also slipped, allowing Antoine Griezmann to add a third, before Robin Le Normand struck a fourth after just 23 breathless minutes.

It was a chaotic opening spell for the away side
Pedro Porro briefly halted the onslaught with a goal for the visitors, but the respite was short lived. Alvarez struck again 10 minutes after the restart, finishing a swift counter attack that began with a superb save from Jan Oblak to deny Richarlison.
For interim head coach Igor Tudor, the result brings further scrutiny. This latest defeat makes it four in succession as the Croatian struggles to halt Spurs’ alarming slide.
Kinsky’s difficult evening began inside six minutes when he slipped while attempting to play the ball out, presenting possession to Ademola Lookman. The forward quickly found Llorente, who finished calmly.
Moments later the pattern repeated itself in extraordinary fashion. Van de Ven lost his footing to gift Griezmann a clear chance, and shortly afterwards Kinsky again fell while attempting a clearance, leaving Alvarez with the simplest of finishes.
Tudor acted quickly, replacing Kinsky with Vicario after only 17 minutes. The young goalkeeper left the pitch visibly shaken, consoled by team-mates and even receiving sympathetic applause from the home support.
The damage, however, was already severe. Le Normand added a fourth following a scramble in the area before Porro reduced the deficit with a neat low finish.
Atletico’s own goalkeeper endured a rare lapse when Oblak’s clearance fell straight to Dominic Solanke, who capitalised to pull another back for Tottenham.
The night ended with further concern for Spurs. A late clash of heads between Joao Palhinha and Cristian Romero left Palhinha unable to continue, while Romero appeared dazed but remained on the pitch, forcing Tottenham to finish the match with 10 men.
