Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo has signed a new three-year deal at the City Ground.

The Portuguese guided the club to seventh in the league last season to qualify for Europe for the first time since 95/96.

Nuno replaced Steve Cooper in December 2023 and kept Forest up, the club surviving on the final day of the 2023-24 season. They suffered a four-point deduction for breaching profit and sustainability rules but finished 17th.

Last season, Nottingham Forest was the surprise package as they competed for Champions League spots, remaining in the top four for most of the campaign. However, they fell out of contention after winning only two of their last seven games, although they did qualify for the Europa Conference League play-off stage.

The former Wolves and Tottenham head coach also led them to the FA Cup semi-finals for the first time since 1991, where they were defeated 2-0 by Manchester City.

In a statement on Forest's website, the Forest boss said: "Nuno EspĂrito Santo said: “I am delighted to be able to continue our journey at this fantastic football Club. Since we arrived at Forest, we have worked extremely hard to create a special bond between the players, the fans and everyone at the Club, which helped us achieve great things last season."

Good news for Forest and their fans.

Frank, a Forest Season Ticket holder, told us: "Nuno signing a new deal is massive for Nottingham Forest. Since coming in, he’s brought a real structure and belief back to the club. You can see the players respect him, and the fans are fully behind him.

"Keeping hold of a manager of his calibre shows the club is serious about building for the future. Stability is what we have needed for years, and this contract extension allows for that. Forest now feels like a proper Premier League side again. He has the experience, passion, and tactical acumen to take us forward."
