Premier League latest - Leicester v Man United ~ Corner

The Danish striker had not scored since 12 December, but seized on poor defending to claim the 28th-minute opener, before Alejandro Garnacho added a second after the break - his first goal in 24 appearances.

The impressive Bruno Fernandes, who assisted two goals, added a 90th-minute third to underline United's dominance.

Victory was overshadowed by a potential serious injury to defender Ayden Heaven. He was carried off in the 51st minute during just his second career start after falling awkwardly.

The result changed little in United's troubled Premier League season. It has lifted them from 15th to 13th. They have managed to maintain their momentum after Thursday's thumping of Real Sociedad to reach the Europa League quarter finals.

Leicester seems destined for an immediate return to the Championship after suffering their 13th defeat in 14 matches, leaving them in second bottom place and nine points adrift of safety.

More analysis and a closer look at what happened

The Foxes are the first team in top-flight history to lose seven consecutive home games without scoring, having not found the net in the league at the King Power Stadium since December 8.

Apart from late efforts from Facundo Buonanotte and Jamie Vardy, they rarely looked like ending their drought and could have fallen behind before Hojlund's strike when Christian Eriksen's curling effort struck the post.

Hojlund got his goal, ending a wait of more than 22 hours, with a confident low finish. Fernandes' pass caught out Boubakary Soumare, while Wout Faes dithered for the United striker to find the bottom corner.

Garnacho also experienced relief after having a goal disallowed for offside. He scored to make it 2-0 in the 67th minute, capitalizing on poor defending.

Fernandes swept in a third from the edge of the area as United cruised to victory, while Leicester, managed by former Red Devils striker and interim boss Ruud van Nistelrooy, were booed off.

Man United backed by superb away end

It was clear by those at the stadium and those watching on TV that Manchester United fans are well and truly behind their manager and players. They sung about their manager and a potential trip to Bilbao in the Europa League final. Watch some of the fans best moments in the video below.

Thomas, a Leicester fan, said: "I have to say that was the best set of away fans that I have seen at The King Power Stadium all season. They were superb and made so much noise.

Stewart Truman, a Manchester United fan, expressed, "Regardless of the outcome, our supporters will always stand by the team when they see that the players are putting in effort. In the last few matches, it's evident that they are playing for the badge. The season could still conclude with a trophy, which would be an incredible finish to a strange and often confusing campaign."

Another defeat for Leicester against United

This was Leicester's 4th defeat against Manchester United this season. Against an inconsistent Red Devils, this perhaps sums up their season as much as anything else.
