Everton fans experience new ground for the first time
It was an historic night for Everton fans.
Nearly 10,000 Evertonians got their first taste of life at their new stadium as they watched the clubās academy side fall to defeat against Wiganās youngsters.

Wiganās Harrison Rimmer ā a lifelong Liverpool fan, no less ā etched his name into the history books by scoring the first-ever goal at the new ground. And he didnāt miss the chance to wind up the home crowd, celebrating by holding up six fingers in reference to Liverpoolās six Champions League titles.
Cole Simms doubled Wiganās lead shortly after, before Everton pulled one back late on through a penalty from 16-year-old Ray Robert.
Regardless of the defeat for their side, this was an incredible opportunity for those young Everton players. It will be interesting to see how many of them end up playing for the first team at the stadium.

What do Everton fans think of their new stadium?
With Premier League, FA Cup and EFL Cup matches set to be played here from next season, the ground is already making an impression. Speaking to some fans, thereās a clear mix of emotionsāmany are excited by the modern facilities but feel bittersweet about leaving Goodison Park.
Jamie, a long-time Everton season ticket holder, summed it up: "Goodison has been our spiritual home, but you canāt fault this. It puts us right up there with the best."
Paula, another season ticket holder, was clearly buzzing about the move to Bramley-Moore Dock: "Itās breathtaking," she said, already looking forward to next season.
One Everton fan's perspective of the new stadium
Another Everton fan who was impressed with the facilities said she thought the ground at the moment "feels a little soulless." Amy added: "Goodison Park is home and is full of history. It will take years before we reach that level of connection at the new place."
