Fulham comeback stuns Brentford
Fulham 2 - 1 Brentford
Harry Wilson delivered a dramatic late twist at Craven Cottage, scoring twice in stoppage time to secure Fulham's comeback win over Brentford.
Brentord had taken the lead with a spectacular first-half strike from Vitaly Janelt, who unleashed a powerful shot from 25 yards that seemed fit to settle any game.
But with only eight minutes left on the clock, Wilson came on as a substitute and soon worked his magic. He acrobatically flicked the ball over goalkeeper Mark Flekken with the outside of his boot to net his first, then clinched victory in the 97th minute by stooping low to head in a thrilling second.
A closer look at what happened
Fulham's performance had deserved a positive result, as they came out strong and kept Brentford, known for their fast starts, on the back foot. Cottagers winger Reiss Nelson, making his first Premier League start, forced two saves from Flekken in quick succession, while Emile Smith Rowe also tested the Brentford keeper.
Brentford, struggling to maintain possession, eventually broke through when Christian Norgaard played the ball to Janelt outside the box, allowing the midfielder to drill a low shot into the corner and give the visitors the lead with their first attempt on target.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with Fulham pushing Brentford back before the late drama unfolded. Alex Iwobi, Kenny Tete, and Andreas Pereall came close, but the hosts couldn’t find an equaliser until Wilson’s clever loop over Flekken from Adama Traore's cross.
With time running out, Antonee Robinson delivered a cross that Wilson met with a diving header, sending the ball into the roof of the net and the crowd into a frenzy.
Brentford, who had dropped more points from winning positions than any other team this season, again saw their lead slip away, leaving Craven Cottage empty-handed in a cruel end to their evening.
Brentford fans respond to late defeat
Jerry was in the Brentford fans end at Craven Cottage. He told us: "That was tough. I can imagine that all players and coaches are emotional today. It is hard to watch your team lead in the 92nd minute but lose. From a wider point, I am concerned about our overall level of performance. There was some good defending and effort but we're short on quality."
This was a view supported by Thomas who added: "It's clear that we are struggling to see games out. If we don't sign some defenders in January, I fear that we might be involved in a really rough relegation battle at the end of this season."
