Pre Season: Man United achieve first win of season's build up
Rangers 0 - 2 Manchester United
Manchester United earned a first pre-season victory with an assured 2-0 win over Rangers in Scotland.
A pinpoint left-footed strike from Amad Diallo in the 39th minute and a fierce drive by Joe Hugill on 70 minutes proved the difference for the Reds in Edinburgh.
The runout at Murrayfield was another opportunity to build up fitness for the Red Devils as 21 players got minutes under their belts. Manager Erik ten Hag saw a much-improved performance following Monday’s 1-0 reverse against Rosenborg in our first friendly of the summer.

First impressions are important
United fans saw a first glimpse of French defender Leny Yoro, who had a solid first 45 minutes in a United shirt following his arrival from Lille on Thursday. Within the squad, Ten Hag named a mixture of youth and experience in his line-up. This included the return of Jadon Sancho. The winger made his first United appearance since 26 August last year after returning from a loan spell at Borussia Dortmund.
Many believed that he would never win the red shirt of Man United again. However, what do they know? He looked calm and composed in the 45 minutes in which he featured. He probably should have done better with the shot he had but that will come.
Other younger players impressed for the Old Trafford side. With the Europa League campaign bringing on at least two extra matches next season, Ten Hag will need a big squad to progress on multiple fronts. It might even save them some money now.
Same old Rangers?
Rangers, whose Scottish Premiership season begins on 3 August, never looked like they would threaten United at any point but their manager will be more concerned about future challenges. This was ultimately another 90 minutes to prepare them for another grueling season. They will be hoping to get closer to Celtic in the Scottish Premiership.
Some fans, as you can see from Mark below, have been critical of their pre-season journey so far. There's a long way to go yet though.

Liam, a Manchester United fan, said: "That was much more composed than the last pre-season match. Yoro looks a great player, and he coped with the Rangers players well."
Georgia from Salford gave more thoughts from a United perspective. She made the trip to Scotland for the match. She said: "Great stadium to visit. Happy for the new season to start now. Roll on the Community Shield against Manchester City."
Mark, a Rangers fan from Preston fan, added: "Poor from us. That was a young United side, and we never threatened them. I am starting to dread the news season as I don't think we will challenge the other team from Glasgow."
