Arsenal comfortably defeated Bournemouth to keep the pressure on Manchester City.

The Gunners remain one point ahead of their title rivals but the blues have played a game less. 

The home side dominated the first half and broke the deadlock just before half-time from the penalty spot. Bournemouth goalkeeper Mark Travers fouled Kai Havertz in the box. This resulted in a penalty for Arsenal that Bukayo Saka calmly converted. 

In the 70th minute, Declan Rice set up Leandro Trossard for Arsenal's second goal. Trossard curled the ball beautifully into the net from inside the area. Rice then added to the score line in added time to give Arsenal a comfortable win. 

Bournemouth look a decent side

During the second half of the game, Bournemouth showed more aggression and put in more effort to score a goal. Dominic Solanke's shot was saved by David Raya, and Justin Kluivert missed the target with his attempt. 

Antoine Semenyo did find the back of the net but the goal was disallowed as Solanke had fouled David Raya in the lead-up to the goal.

Despite the 3-0 defeat, the Bournemouth boss will have have been impressed by some elements of their performance. 

The away side are having their best ever season in the top flight and their points tally of 48 is a record for the club. Their supporters will be looking forward to next season. Could they finish for the European places.

Best Arsenal fan reaction

DJ, an Arsenal fan, said: "I'm very happy. The quality from the beginning impressed me. It should have been three, four or five in the first half. Ultimately, we all know the title isn't in our hands but we have to keep winning football matches and hope that Manchester City make a mistake. it would be funny if Spurs beat them and gave us the title. I'm already excited about next week's match against Manchester United. We're due a win at Old Trafford."

Gabby was at the stadium watching the match. She added: "We have been displaying maturity and courage by maintaining a positive mindset, taking risks, and showing initiative for months. This has become a habit for the players. From a fan perspective, this is helping to create an amazing atmosphere at the stadium."

What are the Bournemouth saying?

Adam, a Bournemouth fan, said: "The fact we thought we could get something out of the match perhaps shows how good this season has been for us. In this match, Arsenal were the better side and deserved their win but we caused them problems."

Jamie, another Bournemouth fan, added: "Despite this loss, it's clear that we have had an incredibly successful season. We certainly gave Arsenal a run for their money. I hope they win the league though. The Gunners deserve it."
