Euro 2024 preview: Players to watch out for
The players to watch out for at Euro 2024
In the first of several Euro 2024 preview articles, this story will explore some of the players that will be looking to have an impact in Germany.
Johan Bakayoko - Belgium
This player began to make a significant contribution to PSV early in 2023, and very quickly, he had managed to score seven goals and provide five assists. With fantastic speed and outstanding one-on-one skills, he is a constant threat to defenders as a traditional right-winger. He recently made his international debut for Belgium in March and could shine for his country in Germany.
Cole Palmer - England
Despite scoring in the 2023 UEFA Super Cup, Palmer made a brave decision to leave Manchester City during the summer. This decision has paid off as he is now regularly starting and scoring goals for Chelsea. Palmer is not only important in pressing off the ball but also a creative force on it, whether he is playing centrally or coming off the right flank. You can watch some of Palmer's best moments in the video below. The clips were put together by the YouTuber Nino12x.
Giorgio Scalvini - Italy
Giorgio Chiellini played a significant role in helping Italy win the European championship title in 2021. Although he has now retired, there is a new defender by the name Giorgio Scalvini who could make a name for himself in the Italian team this summer. Whilst, he is quite different from Chiellini, many do see him as the natural successor to be the leader of this next Italian side.

Kobbie Mainoo - England
Another England player. Mainoo's have been struggling to find reliable central midfielders for over a decade now, which has led to much discontent among fans. However, they may have finally found a solution in the form of Kobbie Mainoo - a player who seems capable of controlling games at the highest level. He will be one to watch out for in Germany.
Xavi Simons - Netherlands
This is another player that grew up at La Masia with Xavi. However, this one was born in Amsterdam and not Spain. Simons is the perfect player to represent the Dutch-Catalan style of Total Football. Many have described him as an artist that Johan Cruyff would have loved to witness. He has already played 13 times for his country and is expected to be a key player for his country over the next few months and years.
Eduardo Camavinga - France
Given the amount of games he's played, you would have forgotten that Camavinga is still relatively young. His knack for playing in several positions across the pitch must make him a dream player for Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid. He is also expected to shine for France this summer. Having already won the league with Real Madrid this season, this is shaping up to be a memorable period in Camavinga's developing career.
Jude Bellingham - England
What else can be said about this player? The former Birmingham City midfielder scored on his Real Madrid debut, he netted a late winner on his home debut. Bellingham has also already scored an injury-time winner in El Clasicos on two occasions and he is the undoubted La Liga player of this campaign. He left the Bundesliga last season and will be excited about returning to Germany at Euro 2024.
