EFL: Hull dent Ipswich promotion hopes

Hull City 3 - 3 Ipswich Town

After falling behind three times, Hull City fought back three times to draw 3-3 with Championship promotion-chasers Ipswich thanks to a late goal by substitute Noah Ohio.

In their quest for automatic promotion, two stunning Omari Hutchinson goals seemed to have sealed all three points for the Tractor Boys.

Ipswich started strong with George Hirst scoring the opening goal but their lead was short-lived as Ozan Tufan equalized. Hutchinson then scored a stunning goal with an unstoppable curling shot just before half-time, putting Ipswich ahead again.

In the second half, Liam Delap, who came on as a substitute, scored to level the score once more. Hutchinson then proved his worth again with another goal, this time with a swerving effort.

However, in the 86th minute, Ohio took advantage of a mistake by Ipswich goalkeeper Vaclav Hladky and smashed the ball into the net via the crossbar to keep Hull's play-off dream alive. Ipswich now need four points from their remaining two games to secure promotion to the top flight.

The draw also means their fight for the second automatic promotion spot will now definitely go to the final day when they host all-but-relegated Huddersfield. This would have been a position that they would have loved to have been in at the start of the season.

This is something confirmed by Marcus, an Ipswich Town fan. The occasional contributor to European Super Football told us: "Another fantastic performance from us going forward. Sad we didn't get the win but it's all in our hands now, which is amazing. We must get the win against Coventry to make it less nervy on the final day of the season."
