Premier League: Antony shines for Man United

 Nottingham Forest 0 - 2 Manchester United

Manchester United gave their Champions League hopes a huge lift.

Antony scored and set up a Diogo Dalot goal to lead their injury-hit side to a 2-0 victory at Nottingham Forest on Sunday as Erik ten Hag's side climbed to third place.

Forest 0 - 2 Man United

Man United have 59 points from 30 games, three points in front of fourth-placed Newcastle and six ahead of Spurs.

A closer look at how United took home the three points.

Alongside Bruno Fernandes, Eriksen helped United dominate the first half with Jadon Sancho and Fernandes having early chances.

After Antony's opener, it took an inspired performance from Navas and some wasteful finishing to keep Forest in the match. Fernandes saw his free header sail just wide on the stroke of half-time and then the Portuguese midfielder had a curling effort tipped onto the post by Navas after the restart.

This win was the perfect response to United's disappointing 2-2 draw at home to Sevilla in the Europa League. Their attention now turns to the second leg of that tie.

For the Forest fans in attendance, they are now looking at what promises to be a titanic battle to stay in the Premier League.

What are the fans saying?

Liam, a Manchester United fan, said: With Newcastle and Tottenham losing, that win is massive. We've still got a lot of big games and the injury list is not looking good. We have still got many top players that come back into this team.

@PrinceJaq1967 gave a Forest perspective. He tweeted: "There are somebig positives to take away from this match. It was progressive with some very good individual performances. Navas and Felipe were brilliant. A point would have been good, but we did play a top team. There are 7 games and 21 points to play for. It isn't over yet. Chelsea are in sight."
