Transfer latest from Old Trafford

With an extensive rebuild being expected at Old Trafford, let's have a look at what might be happening

Frenkie de Jong latest

The Guardian are reporting that Manchester United are confident Barcelona will lower their €85m (£73m) asking price for Frenkie de Jong because of the Catalan club’s difficult financial position and the lack of other suitors for the midfielder.

After Barcelona last week rejected an initial United offer of €60m (£51.3m) plus a potential €10m in add-ons, the club may make a second bid of about €70m plus add-ons for the 25-year-old.

This video from UnitedPeoplesTV explores the story in more detail.

How concrete is interest in Adrien Rabiot

The Football Transfer Tavern believes that Manchester United have taken ‘concrete steps’ towards signing Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot this summer, according to a new transfer rumour.

Rabiot started 28 of his side’s Serie A games last season, but with just a year left on his current, he could be shipped off before he leaves on a free in 2023.

Erik ten Hag reportedly wants to make a few midfield signings to make up for the losses of Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic.

Rooney Recommendation?

United are among a number of clubs competing to buy 18-year-old forward Malcolm Ebiowei from Derby. He has represented the Netherlands and England at youth level. He made 16 Championship appearances last season.

This video takes a lot at why United might want to sign him.
