Spain: The next generation of Spanish stars

Spain have not won a major trophy since Euro 2012.

The players that have come through perhaps haven't been as good as some from the recent history of Spanish football.

This article will explore some of the players that could be at the forefront of the next Spanish revolution.

Robert Navarro

Roberto Navarro Muñoz is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Real Sociedad. He has only played a few times for the first team, featuring mainly for Real Sociedad B. An improvement in minutes on the pitch could see him start to catch the attention of the national team.

Alejandro Francés

Alejandro Francés Torrijo is a Spanish footballer who plays as a central defender for Real Zaragoza. He has started to impress at Zaragoza. Could a move to one of the biggest Spanish clubs be on the agenda in his future.

European Super Football

Pedri

Pedri is everything you want and expect from a Barcelona player. In the mould of Andres Iniesta, he brings elite-level technical excellence, ball carrying, and creative passing to his team. He has often already processed what he needs to do before he gets the ball, swivelling his head to assess his options. He has so much confidence in what he can do on the ball that he does not need to concentrate too much on receiving it. He has already played 49 league games for Barcelona and 12 times for the national side. He could be integral for club and country over the next few years.

Yéremy Pino

Yeremy is already a nicely well-rounded attacking player: he can play across the front three, and is quite active and energetic defensively. He has been playing predominantly on the right, where he likes to hold his width but is always looking to come inside once he receives the ball. He is a regular for his club side and won the Europa League in 2021. This could prove to be the first trophy of many during his career.

Martín Zubimendi

Another Sociedad player. Experts believe that the Spanish midfielder is at his best in the early stage of build-up play. He is secure in possession and receives the ball confidently, allowing himself the opportunity to raise his vision and find a target to progress the ball. He played 46 times for his club last season, and could be a contender to play for his country at the Qatar World Cup. This Manchester United fan wants him at Old Trafford.

 José Ángel Carmona

Carmona made his full debut for Sevilla in La Liga on 13 March 2022 against Rayo Vallecano. He replaced Marcos Acuña after 67 minutes in a 1–1 away draw. He is expected to improve on his solitary league appearance in the coming season. The Qatar World Cup will almost certainly be too soon but could be a contender to represent his country at Euro 2024.
