PL: Everton and Burnley boost survival chances

It was a huge weekend in the bid to secure Premier League football for next season.

First of all. Aston Villa 2 - 0 Norwich City

Then Burnley picked up a hugely important three points with win over Watford.

Burnley scored two goals in the final seven minutes to complete a comeback that pulled them five points clear of the Premier League relegation zone. It also left hosts Watford on the brink of the drop.

Jack Cork's header from Charlie Taylor's left-wing cross cancelled out James Tarkowski's early own goal. Josh Brownhill equalised after he found the bottom corner from the edge of the box to spark jubilant scenes among the travelling fans and in the away dugout at Vicarage Road.

Watford had previously taken the lead when Juraj Kucka's fierce effort struck the crossbar before rebounding off the unfortunate Tarkowski and into the unguarded net.

Everton boosted their own survival bid with a shock win over Chelsea

The home fans created a fantastic atmosphere as they roared their team to victory over Chelsea.

Everton started the game well and their ggressive pressing was eventually rewarded a minute after the break when Richarlison dispossessed Cesar Azpilicueta on the edge of the area and scored his ninth goal of the season.

Their boss Frank Lampard told the media: "Seven minutes added on was a bit of a surprise!

"Difficult. They are always a team that will put you under pressure late on. We did brilliantly. The team, stadium, the fans were man of the match today. From the drive in to the support, which we need. Thanks to them."
