PL: Manchester City held by Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace 0 - 0 Manchester City

Manchester City missed their chance to go six points clear at the top of the Premier League.  They were held by a resilient Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

The away side dominated proceedings. They twice hit the woodwork and defender Aymeric Laporte failed to find the net with the goal at his mercy in the first half.

In front of a fantastic atmosphere, Palace frustrated the Premier League leaders but created little themselves going forward.

A point keeps them 11th as they boosted their hopes of a top-half finish.

Let's have a look at the best reaction

Pep Guardiola told BBC Sport: "We play a really good game. In 90 minutes we concede mistakes a little bit, but the way we played was really good.

"Luck doesn't exist in football. We have to score goals and we didn't do it. We played to score goals and concede few. We struggled a little bit."

One City fan told us: I really think we might regret this result. Liverpool are in great form and will almost certainly take advantage."

Palace's Nathaniel Clyne told the club website about the pre-match plans from boss Patrick Viera: “He just said to play with energy. Get in their faces, don’t make it easy and put our foot in the tackle. When we do have the ball let’s play it quick and play our pace up-front to get into areas where we can make it dangerous.

“I think it worked. Hopefully on another day we could have scored a goal but we take the point and move.”
