PL: Late Rashford winner gives Man United important win

Manchester United 1 - 0 West Ham United

Marcus Rashford scored the winner with virtually the last kick of the game as Manchester United leapfrogged West Ham into the Premier League's top four.

It seemed certain to be another frustrating afternoon for the hosts, who were stifled by the Hammers' organisation and otherwise came no closer than Fred's second-half effort that was saved by Alphonse Areola.

You can watch the highlights in the video below.

Reaction from the men in charge

Man Utd interim boss Ralf Rangnick told BBC's Match of the Day: "The atmosphere (in the dressing room) is amazing. Quite rightly the boys were celebrating. They know what a massive win this was.

"Those are the best kind of wins when the other team has no time to come back. We are extremely happy with the performance and the level of physicality we played with bearing in mind we played three days ago at Brentford."

West Ham boss David Moyes added: ""We had a good defensive organisation but we lacked what we’ve had in recent weeks, our attacking play wasn’t at the level. There was a lot of good things about it but the result is the key thing.

"I’m not coming to these games to roll over and lose, I’m really disappointed with the result but really pleased with how the players have performed."

Social media posts

As always, the players took to Twitter after the match. Bruno Fernandes tweeted: "Nothing beats the feeling of a last second win!!"

Goalscorer Rashford posted simply: "Fergieee timeeeee"
