Manchester United 3 - 1 Burnley

Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick told Amazon Prime: "As expected it was a very tough physical game against a team who play very physical. We also showed the qualities we have in our team. It was important today to raise the energy level.

"The whole team performance was a lot better, I was pleased with the performances of our wingers. Jadon did well and Mason. Eddie and Cristiano, the work effort was amazing.

"I wouldn't say fourth is the minimum. It is about taking next development steps. Now eight games in a row without a defeat. It is about taking next steps."

Burnley manager Sean Dyche added the same channel: "We've been here a couple of times and had big results here and not had nowhere near the amount of chances we have had tonight.

"The frustration is that we could have made blocks on the edge of the box and we didn't and they react and get a goal. It is obviously hard when they are 3-1 up but I thought the mentality was good. Second half we took the game on and tried to get something from it."

Fan reaction

One Manchester United fan told us: "We got the job done. We've not had many straightforward matches this season so this was a pleasant surprise. Harry Maguire still worries me though."

Another added: "Scott McTominay was superb. Nice to see him back from his best!"

A Burnley fan gave his opinion on the match: "I thought we were poor defensively. Plenty of positives in the second half though. We should be ok when it comes to survival in the Premier League.
