The Dutchman played for Rangers between 1998 and 2001. He won five trophies including two league titles.

He went on to win more with Arsenal and Barcelona, including the Champions League with the latter. He has also coached Feyenoord to the Dutch title.

The midfielder won over 100 caps, captaining the Netherlands to the 2010 World Cup final. This was his final match in a wonderful career.

After leaving his country back in 2019, Van Bronckhorst spent a year in Chinese football in charge of Guangzhou R&F.
