PL news: Solskjaer returns to Norway to see family

It has been reported that Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has returned to Norway to spend a few days with his family.

United have given no indication they intend to dismiss Solskjaer in the wake of Saturday’s defeat by Manchester City. There continues to be huge debate externally about whether he should remain in his job after a horrible spell of results, which includes a record 5-0 home defeat by Liverpool.

It is believed that Solskjaer has given his non-international players some time off and he has gone back to Norway. This is also what he did earlier in the season.

Watch the video below to see and hear how the Norwegian responded to that awful defeat and performance against Manchester City.

Responding to constant speculation about his future

A quick search on any social media platform will see an insane amount of speculation regarding the future of the Norwegian. There has been no indication from United that they want to change their manager.

Several media reports have indicated that they do intend to replace Solskjaer with former Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers.

They have also been linked with numerous other managers and coaches from around the world. One United fan told us: "I think Solskjaer should go, but only when an adequate replacement has been found. We need to bring in a permanent manager straight away, similar to how Spurs responded by appointing Conte."
