YouTube comments

As always, hundreds of people commented on Manchester United's YouTube channel. One fan was highly critical of United's performance: "No words anymore, 2 years defending the man but you just can’t anymore. This McFred nonsense is haunting us and it’s destroying any chance of success. Please Ole just don’t use these 2 and you might save your position here!"

This other fan had similar criticisms: "Even though we know Fred made a mistake, but look at how Shaw just ran away from his position. Lindelof was winning that challenge but Shaw disrupted it. Shaw was equally as bad as Fred was in this game. This is not the first time it's happening. Shaw does this a lot."

Everton reaction

Everton will be delighted with the point and the performance. Many of their fans were wary before their Rafa Benitez was appointed but these early performances have alleviated these concerns. This is what he said after the match:

"We have some players who aren't available, which means others have maybe played too many minutes and you could see we were a bit tired at the end. I think overall it was a great performance. We're happy with a point but it could've been even better."

Their goalscorer added:"We take the point, we regroup, rest, recover - hopefully get some bodies back and then have a real go"
