Litherland scored early on thanks to a nicely worked goal. They played a deadly ball through the Avro defence which saw their striker finish from a tight angle.
Avro responded, piling pressure on the side who’ve only won twice this season, Joe Rathbone nearly equalised just a few minutes later when he played a one-two with Afuye but was tackled before he could get a shot off.

Avro equalised when Kyle Harrop swung in one of his trademark crosses, Jake Cottrell rose above the Litherland defence and nodded home his second of the season.
Avro continued to pile pressure on the Merseyside outfit, Potts trying an overhead kick from an Ellis cross, which was blocked by the defender.
Michael Afuye put Avro 2-1 up when he received the ball, made a run past a handful of Litherland defenders and fired it into the bottom corner, giving the goalkeeper no chance.
Sloane nearly joined him on the scoresheet when he shot from the tightest of angles from down the left and was only denied by the fingertips of the goalkeeper.

The second half wasn’t as action-packed as the first half, with very few chances being created.
Cottrell whipped a cross from outside, Joe Rathbone got his head to it but saw it rise just over the bar.
Joe Rathbone created a good chance with 10 minutes left of the game, he fired the ball across the face of goal but Potts couldn’t get a clean connection on it.
Potts nearly scored the goal of the month when Wood thumped the ball to him, he brought it down on his chest, hit it on the volley but saw it go over the bar.
