United, who at the time had not been beaten by the Anfield side in the competition since 1922, looked to be heading out after being caught napping by Michael Owen's second minute header.
The impression at the time was that United were not going to score no matter what they did and that was reinforced after 79 minutes when Keane's shot beat James, hit the post and bounced to safety.
In a sensational finish, Dwight Yorke and substitute Ole Gunnar Solskjaer scored right at the death to give United a dramatic victory.
Liverpool 2 - 2 United - May 1999
A few months after that superb FA Cup match, the two clubs were involved in another dramatic encounter. Liverpool gained some revenge on United and thought they had ruined their Treble dreams.
Paul Ince scored a late equaliser for Liverpool as the championship pendulum swung back towards Highbury. The title chasing United had looked in control after Dwight Yorke's header and a Dennis Irwin penalty had put them two goals up.
Liverpool were awarded a dubious spot-kick mid-way through the second half which Jamie Redknapp coolly slotted home. As the game came to a tense conclusion, Ince was on hand to score a late winner. This left United three points off the pace in the hunt for the Championship. Of course, this worked ok for Manchester United in the end.

Liverpool 1 - 2 United - December 2002
The day Diego Forlan became a cult hero amongst Manchester United's support. The Uruguayan scored twice in two minutes, with his first coming after an abysmal mistake by Jerzy Dudek.
Sami Hyypia cut the deficit to just one with eight minutes left. Dietmar Hamann then nearly levelled the scores from outside the box. It was acrobatically palmed on to the crossbar by Fabien Barthez.
After the match, Sir Alex Ferguson spoke about the mistake from the Liverpool goalkeeper "That was the defining moment of the match - it turned the game for us."
