After Pereira’s sacking on 2 November, Wolves initially had an approach for Edwards turned down by Middlesbrough before being granted permission to speak to the 42-year-old once a compensation agreement was reached. The former Wales international, who made 111 appearances for Wolves between 2004 and 2008, previously managed Luton Town in the Premier League. His first match in charge will be against Crystal Palace at Molineux following the international break.
