Aberdeen 2 - 1 Rangers Jimmy Thelin's unbeaten Aberdeen made their biggest statement yet, ramping up the pressure on Rangers manager Philippe Clement with a thrilling Scottish Premiership victory. Author - Mark Lee The pre-match show at Pittodrie set an electric tone, and the away side struggled to keep up in a sobering first half. Nicky Devlin, having a dream season, fired the intense hosts into an early lead, leaving Rangers overwhelmed. Aberdeen could easily have led by three at the break, as Graeme Shinnie hit the woodwork and Jamie McGrath saw his weak penalty saved by Jack Butland. Yet, it felt as though Aberdeen might rue those missed chances, especially when Rangers had a Ross McCausland goal ruled out for a marginal offside, before clawing their way back to level through Nedim Bajrami’s impressive solo effort. What's going on with Rangers? But Aberdeen, spurred on by a passionate home crowd, retook the lead when substitute Shayden Morris smashed home on the rebound

Once the view cleared, Brendan Rodgers' team dazzled with a display of sharp, attacking football. Celtic’s momentum started early when Cameron Carter-Vickers powered in a header from Arne Engels' corner. Just three minutes later, the brilliant Maeda sped past defenders to set up his fellow Japan international Kyogo Furuhashi, who confidently drove in Celtic's second goal. Rodgers' side, still undefeated after 13 domestic games this season, added a third before half-time. Nicolas Kuhn split the defence with a sublime pass, allowing Maeda to net his first goal of the eveni

Having previously gone 10 games without a win, Stephen Glass was under severe pressure. Aberdeen have since responded brilliantly with seven points from nine against Hibs, Rangers, and Hearts. Given the opposition and injuries, it has been a superb showing from the Aberdeen boss and his players. You can hear what the Aberdeen manager had to say by watching the video below.  The result means that Hearts have dropped to third place in the table and Aberdeen are now 6th.  More reaction The Hearts manager Robbie Neilson spoke with the media after the match: "I don't think we played to the levels we have consistently this season. We were going to lose at one point and today was that day. "There's going to be days where you don't pick up the points, that's football. A great start for Celtic Things couldn’t have got off to a better start for Celtic as inside the first two minutes, Callum McGregor gave the Hoops the lead. It was Greg Taylor’s initial cross which was headed clear by Aberdeen, but it only went as far as the skipper lurking on the edge of the box who smashed a low drive into the bottom left corner, despite the efforts of Jay Gorter in g

Scotland: Aberdeen 1 - 2 Celtic

Jota's late winner earned Celtic a first away Scottish Premiership win since last season as Aberdeen's poor form continued.  Kyogo Furuhashi chested in a deserved early opener but the hosts improved after the break and equalised when Lewis Ferguson diverted a corner in. In the end, Celtic responded late at Pittodrie as Jota's close-range finish earned a probably deserved one. The result means Celtic remain sixth and Aberdeen stay ninth. The home side are without a win in nine games. This includes a four-game losing streak in the Premiership. It is their worst run in the top-flight since April 2011. Reaction Aberdeen manager Stephen Glass said: "Overall we're disappointed, but I'm pleased with the second half. "We're concerned we're not getting the points we deserve on the board. It's important we keep trying to get it right." He also spoke with his club's social media accounts. 📺 Post match reaction from our manager. pic.twitter.c

Scotland: Celtic and Rangers both win

Now for an update from Scotland as Celtic and Rangers both win Celtic 2 - 1 Aberdeen Callum McGregor's bizarre winner earned Celtic victory over Aberdeen and made sure they remain four points behind Rangers. Jota's finish broke the deadlock on 20 minutes, but Liel Abada's trip on David Bates allowed Lewis Ferguson to equalise from the penalty spot. Celtic stepped up the intensity in the second period and scored a lucky winner, with a clearance rebounding off McGregor into the net. Aberdeen boss Stephen Glass will be annoyed at losing in such circumstances after his team put in a brave defensive display. The reality is the defeat extends their losing streak to three games. They are also ten points off the top four.  Darvel 1 - 0 Aberdeen Darvel produced probably the biggest upset in the history of the Scottish Cup as the sixth-tier outfit defeated top-flight Aberdeen. Jordan Kirkpatrick's first-half shot on the spin at Recreation Park deflected past Joe Lewis to put Darvel on course for a last-16 home tie with Falkirk. Chris Truesdale made three great close-range saves from Aberdeen forwards Ryan Duncan and Luis Lopes. However, the West of Scotland Premier Division leaders held on. What a remarkable result. The embarrassing exit has piled further pressure on Pittodrie manager Jim Goodwin who has been under fire from fans and the media recently. Reaction Darvel manager Mick Kennedy told the media: "I believed in the guys all week. It's about togetherness and love and respect. We've been driving that home all week. Early Life of Denis Law He grew up in an Aberdeen Council Flat and was the youngest of six siblings. His dad George Law was a fisherman, and this fact would later feature in a chant created by Manchester United fans.  He supported Aberdeen and watched them on the terraces when he had the money to do so. He got his first pair of football boots as a teenager after receiving them as a present. The obsession with football led to Law turning down a place at the local grammar school as their sport of choice was Rugby.   The start of a glorious football career After being scouted by Huddersfield Town, he was eventually signed by the Yorkshire side in April 1955. Not long after, he had an operation to remove his quint. This greatly improved his self-confidence. Following Huddersfield’s r

Rangers 1 - 1 Dundee United Vaclav Černy’s equaliser cancelled out Sam Dalby’s opener, but Rangers couldn’t find the winning goal that would have brought them within six points of Aberdeen and six clear of United. Author - Mark Lee Although this was the first time Rangers have dropped points at Ibrox this season, it’s another setback in their campaign. They've now let 13 points slip across their opening 12 league matches and sit 11 points adrift of leaders Celtic. The match began with Černy and Nico Raskin forcing early saves from Jack Walton, while Nedim Bajrami’s curling effort was tipped wide by the United keeper. Dundee United were well-drilled and disciplined and gradually grew into the game. Vicko Sevelj’s pinpoint deep cross found Dalby unmarked, and the striker headed past the exposed Jack Butland to give the visitors a shock lead. It could have gone from bad to worse for Rangers when Dalby got into a promising shooting position, only for his low effort to be blocked by

A closer look at what happened in Perth Kyogo Furuhashi eventually put the visitors in front with a typical run and finish and Paulo Bernardo completed an excellent move with a fine finish. Kyogo then headed a third in first-half added time and Callum McGregor, Maeda and substitute Adam Idah added more goals in the second period. Brendan Rodgers' side lead Aberdeen on goal difference at the top of the table while Saints are a point above second bottom. Celtic looking unstoppable in Scotland. Hearts 1 - 4 Celtic Clinical Celtic opened up a three-point gap at the top of the Scottish Premiership with a commanding victory over Hearts at Tynecastle. Author - Sean M With Aberdeen suffering their first league defeat of the season earlier in the day, Brendan Rodgers' side seized the opportunity to establish clear daylight between themselves and the Dons for the first time this campaign. Celtic were sluggish in the first half, though, and were lucky to head into the break level. Blair Spittal and Lawrence Shankland both squandered excellent chances to put Hearts ahead. The second half, however, was a completely different story. Kyogo Furuhashi broke the deadlock with his seventh goal of the season, pouncing on a deflected clearance by Daniel Oyegoke after Craig Gordon's initial save. Minutes later, Nicholas Kühn doubled the lead with a superb counter-attacking goal, finishing clinically to put Celtic firmly in control. Celtic Football Club news and stories Adam Idah add
