The Eagles are competing in their first European campaign after lifting the FA Cup in 2024–25 and arrived back in south London with the tie finely poised following a 1–1 draw in Mostar last week.
There was little sense of jeopardy in the return leg. Oliver Glasner’s side controlled proceedings throughout at Selhurst Park, keeping their visitors at arm’s length while steadily asserting their authority.
How Palace eased into the next round
They made the breakthrough in the 36th minute when Maxence Lacroix rose to head home from close range after a finely judged free-kick from Adam Wharton near the left touchline.
Evann Guessand saw one effort saved and Ismaila Sarr headed wide when well placed, but the tie was settled in stoppage time. Guessand drove a low, powerful shot beyond the goalkeeper in the second minute of added time to secure a 2–0 win on the night and a 3–1 aggregate success.
Palace will now face either Mainz or AEK Larnaca in the next round, with the first leg at Selhurst Park on Thursday 12 March before the return fixture a week later.
