The highlight includes a return for the former Brentford striker Ivan Toney

Real Madrid's Jude Bellingham has also been selected, despite the midfielder's upcoming shoulder surgery. He is set to have an operation following the Club World Cup to resolve an issue that has troubled him since 2023.

The Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden is a notable absentee, while there are no representatives from Manchester United.

Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah has received his first senior call-up which is deserved afterwards a decent season in the Premier League.

An interesting squad for Tuchel

Jordan Henderson is a selection that might cause serious discussion among English fans.  The former Liverpool player is 35 years old now and there will be some England fans questioning why he is in the squad ahead of promising youngsters like Adam Wharton.

Macca told us: "Not sure why Henderson has been picked. Is he even making the World Cup squad."

Ajay gave a more in-depth analysis of the announcement, saying: "Tuchel's squad selections often present a paradox. He speaks about the importance of consistency and team cohesion, yet has indicated that players like Solanke and Manchester United’s Harry Maguire have been left out because he is already familiar with what they offer."
