Villa looking to improve their squad
On Saturday, Aston Villa boss Unai Emery admitted the club āneed new playersā after their disappointing 2-0 defeat to relegation-threatened Wolves.
Villa have already strengthened their squad this January, bringing in Spanish full-back AndrĆ©s GarcĆa from Levante and Dutch forward Donyell Malen from Borussia Dortmund. However, they also sold Colombian striker Jhon DurĆ”n to Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr in a Ā£71m deal, while centre-back Diego Carlos moved to FenerbahƧe for around Ā£8.45m.

Their squad depth has been tested further, with England striker Ollie Watkins forced off injured at the weekend. Meanwhile, injuries to Pau Torres and Tyrone Mings have left Villa so short at the back that central midfielder Boubacar Kamara has had to fill in at centre-half.
On Monday, the club confirmed that 19-year-old defender Kosta NedeljkoviÄ has joined RB Leipzig on loan for the rest of the season. The Serbian youngster has struggled for game time since arriving from Red Star Belgrade in January 2024, making just two starts for Villa.
