The Greece Under-21 international has signed a contract until June 2030 but will remain in Germany with Nuremberg for the second half of the season.

Many at Brighton see Stefanos as an exceptional young talent. They believe he's an out-and-out centre-forward with a natural ability to score goals.

Tzimas joined Nuremberg from PAOK in the summer on loan, in a move that included an option to buy.

The 19-year-old rose through the youth system at PAOK, making his first-team debut as a late substitute against PAS Giannina in February 2023. Just a game later, at only 17 years old, he netted his first league goal in a resounding 6-0 win over Ionikos.

Nuremberg activated that option before his move to Brighton. He is Brighton's third signing of the winter window after Paraguay midfielder Diego Gomez joined from Major League Soccer club Inter Miami and defender Eiran Cashin moved from Championship side Derby for a fee of £9m.

Premier League: 2024/2025 season

Brighton are 10th in the Premier League with 34 points from 24 matches. It's certainly interesting that they are already enhancing their squad for the next campaign even when the current season is still in full swing.

You can see in the video below why Brighton have been so interested in this signing.

In a statement on the Brighton website, their Technical director David Weir added, "He will spend the second half of the season with Nuremburg, who have provided him with an excellent opportunity this season, to continue his development in the Bundesliga 2. We will keep a close eye on his progress, and wish him the very best for the second half of the season with Nuremburg."
