After a difficult week for the forward, Kamara opened the scoring before lashing home a late equaliser.

Ao Tanaka equalised for Leeds straight after the interval, Dan James converted a Jayden Bogle cut-back and Joel Piroe accepted a gift from home goalkeeper Ivor Pandur to put the visitors in control before some late drama.

Joao Pedro gave home fans hope when he touched in with nine minutes to go and the comeback was complete in the 89th minute when Kamara fired home after a corner had been cleared to the edge of the area.

With Leeds having won eight of their previous 11 league games and heading the Championship table, few would have expected relegation-threatened Hull to derail the visitors' promotion charge, but Kamara gave them a shock lead inside the opening five minutes.

Late equaliser denies Leeds at Elland Road

The former Norwich forward seized on a Mason Burstow pass and lobbed over a stranded Illan Meslier in the Leeds goal.

And it could have been 2-0 at the break had Regan Slater not struck a post when it seemed easier to score.

Hull were left to rue that miss barely 60 seconds into the second period when Japanese international Ao Tanaka was afforded space on the edge of the box to curl in his first goal for Leeds.

The leaders got in front just past the hour when Manor Solomon found Jayden Bogle, whose cut-back was converted by James. Home goalkeeper Pandur then denied Piroe but was culpable when Leeds went 3-1 up.

Under no pressure, the Croatian passed the ball straight to Piroe, who made no mistake, and that appeared to be enough for Daniel Farke's side.

But the Tigers gave themselves hope nine minutes from the end when Pedro touched home after Meslier failed to deal with Sean McLoughlin's header, and there was a sting in the tail to come as Kamara sent the MKM Stadium into raptures.

A last -minute corner was cleared to the edge of the Leeds area and Kamara smashed the ball into the net to end a turbulent week for the 21-year-old on a high.
